We Brought the DVD a few weeks after it was realeased. After all the hype, it was a bit of a let down. However, having read the book before hand, it was slightly impressive and I could just about work out what was happening. The action was good and their was a lot of symbolysm used in the film to make it more effective - though i must explain that i didn't notice it until i watched the special features on the bonus disk.
The story line, as i mentioned breiefly, was very complicated for some people to watch. I strongly recommend reading the book before watching the film if you want to get full enjoyment out of this product. I watched it with my mum and my nan, all of us enjoyed it immensley, this suggests that it is a fabulous film for all ages. Upon ending we were able to hold an intresting discussion about the issues.
For those of you who have manged to blot out all the greif this book had been given i shall outline why. This story basically centers round what could happen if Jesus had, infact, married Mary Magdelen (Or the prostitute as some know her) and had childern with her. This has recieved huge bashing from the many religous sectors. However, don't all religions need questioning? I know for a fact some of the guys getting on their high horses about it havn't actually read the book. Same really it is an amazing story!
The bonus disk includes interview with the cast, the directors and behind the scenes fotage. Well worth a look after you have seen the film!
Yes ladies and gentlmen, people have now made a film that you need to think about...

you need to read more reviews by others and expand a bit more on your reviews. Also - get/use a good spell checker!

Sorry for the H, but if this is to be a full DVD review, I would prefer to see a review of the extras in similar detail to the way you've reviewed the film, rather than just a brief mention of them.
