Porcupine Tree began as a joke in 1987, with a mock-biography of a psychedelic band. Steven Wilson, along with friend Malcolm Stocks, invented its history, and Wilson recorded some hours of music to back up the ruse. But some of the songs he recorded had enough going for them for him to compile a selection onto tape a couple of years later and send them out to potentially interested parties. It was a few years later, after gradually building a reputation in the underground psychedelic music scene, that the first proper release "On The Sunday Of Life" saw light of day, a compilation of what Wilson deemed to be the best bits of this early work, quite surreal and definitely psychedelic! When I hired 'Cry Wolf' to watch, I thought it was going to be normal teenage slasher movie. Even at the beginning of the film of a teenage murdering scene, I thought it's going to be an average film. All you need to do is to work out who the killer is among the main characters, which a lot of chasing and dodging. Advantages: Great acting Disadvantages: Abit depressing but with lighter parts
This Steve Buschemi's debut as writer and director. Made in 1996 it is a relatively unknown film but was a critcal if not commercial succes for Buschemi
The film is about an alcoholic named Tommy (Steve Bushemi), the film starts and he is trying to wangle one more drink out of the barmaid 15 minutes after 'time'. The barmaid Connie(played by Carol Kane - Hester Street, Taxi) is obviously familiar and serves him with Tommy, which is an interesting tenet to the film as everyone knows everyone in this small suburb and everyone knows Tommy and he seems to recoil from it in shame. The bar 'Trees Lounge' is always populated by Tommy, an elderly alcoholic Bobby and another successful alcoholic Mike (Mark Boone Junior - Batman Begins, Lonesome Jim) Tommy starts to form a friendship with Mike thinks he is a looser.
