Eric is killed by being shot and then thrown out of his top window. The crow has a power to bring wrestles souls back from the dead and help them seek vengeance. You see the group of thugs causing damage to a slot machine arcade by smashing it up and torching buildings. During this time Eric is having flashbacks to that night and what has happened as he struggles to walk to his building unsure of what is happening to himself, with the crow leading the way. He cuts himself on his window and his hands heal within seconds. He cannot die or be harmed anymore. Sarah goes to the apartment as she is longing to see them again but knows she can't. She senses Eric there and he tells her that he has come back by some miracle. Eric dresses in black and paints his face white and black and goes out into the night ……..
Without telling you too much about the rest of the story or how Eric gets his revenge you shall have to make your own mind up about this film that I think is a masterpiece. This is as fresh and exciting today as it was made in 1996.
The film I am reviewing is the region 1 collectors edition, which is basically the same as the region 2 one. This has DTS sound and dolby digital, has DVD rom capability, and the normal languages, subtitles etc.
As this has two disks I shall tell you what is on both. In this case the region 2 version may or may not have this two disk set as there are two region 2 versions out, the single film one disk edition and the two disk version which is very similar to what I am reviewing here.
Disk 1 :

Disk 2 :
Behind the scenes featurette, this includes all that went on with the making adaption, music and everything you could want to hear about the making of the film. This is directed by Alex Proyas whomb you hear talking about this with the rest of cast and crew during this making of featurette. There is an interview on this featurette with Brandon lee during the making of the film and this was his last ever interview. This was completed without Brandon as he was killed on set but the film was not finished. The direcor will tell you about this. This featurette goes in depth and talks about every character of the film and their background.
There is a feature commentary with producer Jeff Most and screenwriter John Shirley with in depth conversations about this film and everything you would want to know. They give tremendous insight into this film and the cast.
There are extended scenes that were cut just because of time reasons
There is a deleted footage montage that brings everything together with a piece of soundtrack from the film
There are original poster concepts
Production design stills
Storyboards from the film
There is a Spanish and French language track
This also has DVD Rom features of : Devil's night retribution trivia game Enhanced playback track Screenplay viewer Weblinks
When I first saw this film I loved it and thought that the way Brandon had played the Crow was the best. This has a great storyline and I have seen this film so many times I cannot express how good this actually is. This was Brandon's finest and mainly the film he will get mostly remembered for.
As I have said before the region 2 version may not include all of these special features but I know it has most of these on it as they are very similar. As these DVDs were being made both regions were having more special features on than normal as this film was to be a prior example of.

He tells of how and why he invented The Crow and gives an insight into the emotional trauma that gave birth to this cult tale of love and loss. The film is focused around Eric Draven (Lee), who starts out the film happy with his life, in a loving relationship and in a successful rock band until his life come to an abrupt end when he is killed by members of a group of organised crime after walking in on his girlfriend about to be raped.

The story line is not the strongest and the film does not have alot more depth than revenge but i still enjoyed watching it. Lee plays the character very well leaving the obvious question of what sort of actor would he have become if he had not been killed during the making of this film. The other actors staring in this film did not impress so much but that maybe due to the story line. The film has a sin city kind of feel to it ...
