Advantages: touching, funny and memorable Disadvantages: depictions of violence and prostitution may be shocking
...but for a brief violent scene towards the end. Despite the lack of blood and gore, it is a genuinely disturbing scene and one that is still difficult for me to watch, despite having watched it so many times.
Considered ground-breaking in its time, Midnight Cowboy holds up over thirty years on. Despite its overwhelmingly bleak and tragic nature, it is also thoroughly entertaining and, in parts, uplifting. I first saw Midnight Cowboy on late-night television and immediately ordered it from amazon so that I could show it to everyone I could pester into sitting down with me for two hours. All of them thanked me for it afterwards.
Midnight Cowboy is a classic piece of cinema and deserves to be preserved as such. The DVD package doesn't come with too many extras (a trailer, chapter selection, some pretty menus - you spoil us, ambassador!) but is worth...

Advantages: Action Packed Disadvantages: none in my opinion
...This volume has all the elements that make cowboy bebop such great series. From the action and cinematic quality in the episode where vicious makes his appearance to the comic relief that Ed adds to the story, when he gets picked up. Of course the script of the dubbing and the quality of actors voices make the translation from the original Japanese into English flawless and is probably one of the best examples of dubbed anime. the volume also contains some excellent scenes based in space which add an extra dimension to an already entertaining DVD. Overall this is an essential instalment of the Cowboy bebop series where the plot starts to take form and the most minor but also most entertaining character gets picked up from earth....

Advantages: Extremely amusing Disadvantages: A little slow
...I imagine that most of you will not have heard of Leningrad Cowboys Go America, but let me tell you that it is one fantastic movie!
This film, extremely low budget that it is, is based on a Finnish cult rock and roll band called the Leningrad Cowboys, who actually exist. It follows their quest for success in the land of the free that is America.
We see them from the airport in Helsinki to end up in Mexico and success at last!
In between we see how they learn their trade, their own take on democracy and many amusing happenings!
It is basically a road movie of a very cheap nature. The story is not convoluted and all it takes is a little patience...it is worth it!
There are a couple of quotes which make this movie worth while. For instance, two Cowboys are sitting on a balcony overlooking New York...
Cowboy One: "I wonder when...

DVD Description
After his cowhands desert him for a nearby gold rush, aging, leather-tough rancher Will Anderson (John Wayne) resorts to hiring 11 schoolboys to help him on a 400-mile cattle run. Setting off with the boys and an eloquent but equally tough black cook (Roscoe Lee Browne), Anderson must get his cattle to their destination while contending with the wilderness and a psychotic, vengeful ex-con (Bruce Dern) who is out to get him. With an amazingly natural performance by Wayne, this stylized, action-packed Western is exquisitely filmed, emotionally sensitive, and highly entertaining. Director Mark Rydell gets solid performances out of not just Wayne (in one of his later screen roles) and Browne, but the group of youngsters accompanying them on the journey, as well as actors like Slim Pickens and Colleen Dewhurst who play smaller supporting roles. Close attention is also paid to the natural beauty of the mountains, wild mustangs, and other often overlooked standard Western fare.
