...to verify the evolution of the species it first encountered on earth. It waited until contact with humans was made and only then sent out its signal. The next segment of the film takes us to the interior of the space ship Discovery. A team of scientists are travelling to Jupiter on a mission of exploration. Several team members are in a state of suspended animation inside life support pods. The maintenance of the space ship is performed by two crew-members Frank (Gary Lockwood) and Dave (Keir Dullea) and an advanced computer system called Hal 9000. Frank and Dave are on separate shifts. They perform their varied tasks almost as if they were machines and the actual machine Hal 9000 is more conversational and actually more human than the astronauts are. Advantages: New Plots, Good Storylines.
Disadvantages: New Uniform - rather dour!

...The ongoing story on deep space nine where the Dominion War is brewing, klingons are back in force! The traditional uniform of starfleet that we have come to love has been changed for a more dour uniform, reasonably suited to the tensions and build up for battles to come. This season has an interesting mirror universe episode, where the characters get a chance to be evil instead of good! And there is the famous trials and tribulations episode with Jadzia in a very short skirt, and Ben gets to me Captain Kirk - all to save that precious timeline! And amongst all the suspicions of war, there are blossiming romances with Worf and Dax , and Odo and Kira! Also one episode featuring Quark which is bound to make you laugh! There are special features on the last cd of the set - which include how some of the drawings of ships and costumes... Read review

...rather than depend on instinct, and it would open up the door to inventions, scientific discoveries, and six seasons of "I Love Lucy". Now utilizing bones as weapons, the apes beat one of their rivals to death and take back their watering hole. The sequence ends with a memorable transition: when the ape throws the bone up into the air, it cuts to a modern-day space station hovering over Earth's atmosphere; indeed, a lot has been accomplished over the centuries using different kinds of tools. The Space Age is now upon us, with the ability to travel to not only the moon but also other planetary bodies, and maybe even beyond. Kubrick takes his time showing us the details of what life like is in space, complete with video calls to Earth to keep in touch with loved ones, and a zero gravity toilet which has a set of instructions longer than...
