Advantages: Superb graphics Disadvantages: Style of film won't suit everyone
The Chronicles of Narnia: PrinceCaspian was released in 2008 and is the filmed version of the book of the same name, which was written by C.S Lewis. Both the film and the book are the sequels to the film and the book entitles The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. The film details what happens when Peter, Susan, Edmund and Lucy, the Pevensie siblings, return to Narnia the land they love so much.
The first film saw the Pevensie children stumble into the astounding world of Narnia, meet Aslan and defeat the White Witch that was keeping Narnia encapsulated in ice. There reward for this was to be crowned the Kings and Queens of the place they had come to care about so much. This film sees the four intrepid explorers called back to Narnia by the blast from a sacred horn.
Many centuries have passed in Narnia ...
I loved the first film after I finally got around to watching it and so this was a must see, The Chronicles of Narnia, PrinceCaspian continues the books of C S Lewis. I have never read the book so this was a whole new story to me and I was not disappointed so I should really read the book as book normally have so much more description in them.
This film carries on from the first film and it has been a year since Peter played by William Moseley, Susan played by Anna Popplewell, Edmund played by Skandar Keynes and Lucy played by Georgie Henley.
They have returned to England from Narnia and they are just about to carry on with their normal life, when they are back in a castle it is once again in Narnia but its a few hundred years between the original Narnia they were in.
They have been summoned back to help PrinceCaspian played ...
Advantages: Great story, good acting, nice music Disadvantages: just seemed to be missing some of the magic from the first film
After both me and hubby thoroughly enjoyed watching The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe we could not wait to watch the next instalment from the Narnia series. I have to say that this did cause some argument between us!
At the start of the film we see a baby boy being born and the father sending word that he wants PrinceCaspian now killed so his son will be the only heir to the throne. Caspian is warned about this from a Professor who helps him escape and gives him a horn and says he is to sound it when he is in mortal danger and has no way out. The horn will get help to him.
We then meet Peter, Lucy, Edmund and Susan who are on their way to school. They are now back in London and have spent the last year living a normal life and wondering if they will ever go back to Narnia. As they sit waiting for their train the magic begins ...

Review
The well-staged battle scenes recall a multi-species BRAVEHEART and there's a sense of real lives at stake (Empire, 08/10/2008)
[A] fierce and somber battle epic[...]As the soldiers pick up their broadswords and begin to slash and plunge, PRINCE CASPIAN seizes, and holds, your attention. (Entertainment Weekly, 08/10/2008)
PRINCE CASPIAN is quite a bit darker than THE LION, THE WITCH AND THE WARDROBE, both in look and mood. It is also in some ways more satisfying. (New York Times, 08/10/2008)
DVD Description
Based on the second novel in C.S. Lewis's beloved CHRONICLES OF NARNIA series, PRINCE CASPIAN finds the four Pevensie children--Peter (William Moseley), Susan (Anna Popplewell), Edmund (Skandar Keynes), and Lucy (Georgie Henley)--once again whisked away from WWII-era England into the realm of Narnia, where the siblings once ruled as royalty. However, the Pevensies soon discover that 1,300 years have passed since they left, and the world is now controlled by the Telmarines, humans who long ago banished the magical creatures of Narnia to the wilderness. When the heir to the Telmarine throne, Caspian (Ben Barnes), survives an assassination attempt plotted by his scheming uncle, Miraz (Sergio Castellitto), the noble youth stumbles across Narnia's exiled enchanted population, and decides to lead them in an uprising, aided by Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy.
Considerably darker and more action-packed than THE LION, THE WITCH AND THE WARDROBE, this 2008 sequel, once again directed by Andrew Adamson, is driven by the struggle between the Telmarines and the banished Narnians, resulting in many fierce battle sequences. While the newcomer Barnes and the established quartet of Moseley, Popplewell, Keynes, and Henley are all in fine form, CASPIAN is largely enhanced by its supporting cast, which includes indie mainstay Peter Dinklage as the dour dwarf Trumpkin and revered comedian Eddie Izzard as the voice of the swashbuckling mouse Reepicheep. Also briefly reprising their roles from the previous film are Liam Neeson, as the voice of Aslan, and Tilda Swinton, as the White Witch, actors who bring their familiar personas to this engaging and entertaining second chapter in the NARNIA saga.
