I am so glad I saw his previous, film Buffallo 66' , first. In that he is a magnificant psycho working class Woody Allen, in this pile of twaddle he has crawled so far up himself that, with any luck, he will never be found again. I would love to describe the plot to you in great detail: he drives his car and then gets given head by the hapless Chloe Sewigny - there - that is it - I suppose that here is a twist of sorts ( in the tradition of all desperate struggling plots) at the end which I am tempted to tell you so you won't have the agony of sitting through the film to get to it but I won't, just to be cruel. It does not really constitute a twist anyway as the only thing that suprises you about it is that something has happened -...sort of. I suppose that along the way on his badly filmed journey he does stop occasionally to bestow his irresistable ( but oh so disturbed and guilt ridden) charms on various grateful women. I think Vincent Gallo is indulging all his worst fantasies about himself If only he had had some real mates around him to tell him how dreadful and self indulgent he was being, but no, and it got a distribution deal - wow! On the plus side (!!!) I stayed awake so I guess it must have some atmospheric charm but I think I was just convinced that at some point soon something must happen.
I see you've posted this as a DVD review, but you've not mentioned the DVD. Are there any extras? If so, what are they and are they any good? If you add to this, or if you change it to be posted as a "Film Only" review, please let me know and I'll re-rate.
Sorry for the low rating but I thought your review seemed a little confused, and was a bit short, would have liked to read more about the film and your opinion of it, Ellie.
motorcycle racer Bud Clay (Gallo) as he drives seemingly endlessly cross-country before a chance encounter with similarly emotionally suffocated Daisy (Sevigny) leads...
