Gregory Peck heads a star-studded cast charged with a near impossible mission: to destroy a pair of German guns nestled in a protective cave on the strategic Mediterranean island of Navarone, from where they can control a vital sea passage. As world famous mountain climber turned British army Captain Mallory, Peck leads a guerrilla force composed of the humanistic explosives expert, Miller (David Niven), the ruthless Greek patriot with a grudge, Stavros (Anthony Quinn), veteran special forces soldier Brown (Stanley Baker) and the cool, quiet young marksman Pappadimos (James Darren). Advantages: A must see for all lovers of long historical epics. Disadvantages: Could have shown more detail in the battle scenes.
This is an impressive looking production with sumptuous costumes and sets and a rousing score from Vangelis. The Director's Cut includes extra footage, as is to be expected.
Oliver Stone chose a largely European cast for the film, with Colin Farrell as Alexander and Anthony Hopkins as Ptolemy. In this film there are several Irish actors, including Farrell, so the main accent is of course Irish, which makes a change from the (by now) traditional British accents in film epics.
It would be refreshing if a director had his historical cast adopt an accent authentic to the time and place i.e. in this case Macedonian or Greek. Val Kilmer, who plays Philip, Alexander's father, does change his, but to an Irish one like Farrell. Angelina Jolie, who plays Alexander's manipulative mother, is the only one who attempts a Mediterranean delivery ...

this is the only fools and horses complete collection boxset but in my eyes it isnt because loads of scenes have been cut and musical scores changed or cut out and laughter tracks added onto episodes that didnt originally have a laughter track. so its not really the complete collection is it with all these things changed and added the episode a royal flush is the one that been edited the most loads of scenes have been cut and a laughter track added wich spoils the episode completely. i would strongly recommend anyone that want to see all the episodes in all their glory is to tape them off uk gold its better than this so called complete collection that the bbc have released im still waiting for the genuine complete collection. ...

I was slightly disapointed by this third story since it really didn't go by the books my L.M Montgomery at all. The first two movies are at least based on her books , but this movie was almost entirely made up. I was hoping the third movie would follow the other books about Anne as she is grown up with Children.
Still, the movie was well made and entertaining. It was good to see the actors again, and the costumes anad attention to detail from the World War I era are fantastic. It's not as good as the first two movies, but well worth a watch.
