Has anybody else had emails come from ciao saying you have contacted them because you can't log in? Just wondering if somebody is trying to hack into the accounts as I know I certainly didn't contact ciao about logging in! Hmmm...

I went to see this when it was in cinemas and liked it so much that when it came out on DVD I went straight out and bought it. The film was written by Jeremy Garelick and Jay Lavender and even Vince Vaughn did part of the story and the film was directed by Peyton Reed.
The story: The film, hence the name, is about a couple who break up and how it effects both of them as they are still living in the same home together while they wait to sell it. However, neither of them really wants to make way for the other so there are lots of comedy moments during the film and it isn't all serious! The film also follows how it affects their joint friends as normally the group of them do everything together and as you can imagine this suddenly is an awkward position to be in when you don't want to offend either one of the couple! The cast: The cast in this film contains quite a few famous faces and of course the whole thing of Jennifer Anniston and Vince Vaughn getting
together was that they fell for each other on the set! The full main cast list is below -
Jennifer Anniston - Brooke Meyers John Michael Higgins - Richard Meyers Ann Margret - Wendy Meyers Vernon Vaughn - Howard Meyers Vince Vaughn - Gary Grobowski Cole Hauser - Lupus Grobowski Vincent D'onofrio - Dennis Grobowski Elaine Robinson - Carol Grobowski Jon Favreau - Johnny Joey Lauren Adams - Addie Judy Davies - Marilyn Dean There are obviously some more characters that play a part in this film but these are the main ones that we see most often in the film - now most of you eagle eyed out there may have noticed that there is an actor in this film called Vernon Vaughn who plays the part of Howard Meyers (Brooke's dad). Even though he plays the part of Brooke's dad, he is in fact in real life Vince Vaughn's dad. I spotted this myself when reading the credits so checked to see if they are related and lo and behold they are!!
DVD extras: The DVD comes with some extras that are on the same disc rather than the usual 2 discs that mean you have to change it if you want to watch these extras! These are as follows: Alternate ending - I think after watching this film I was not happy with the ending and I think I do prefer the alternative that is offered on the bonus bit. Deleted scenes - the usual snippet of scenes that the director has chosen to cut from the film. The bonus bit has 6 deleted scenes to look at. Extended scenes - again these are really what have been cut from the film as these scenes are in the film but these are the longer original versions that the director has decided to cut as the full length of the scene is not needed. This part has 3 scenes to look at. Outtakes - these are the bits where the actors have mucked up and they have put together a collection of these for us to view - I always love watching these as you get to see the real side of the actors. There are 7 to watch based on different scenes from the film that had the actors screwing up on. Great fun to watch! Commentary - This is done with Jennifer Anniston and Vince Vaughn and is their thoughts on the film.
Overall opinion: The film I think would be enjoyed by everyone as it has parts that for anyone who has ever been in a serious relationship can relate to. They argue over the silliest things that eventually is what breaks them apart and all through the film you are (or maybe just the romantics in you!) rooting for them to just realise they are wrong and to sort out their problems. As I mentioned above there are comedy moments in this and the film is not all serious. The particular part that I like is involving Brooke's brother Richard and Gary and some funny singing! I won't go into more details as I think it is easier to understand if you watch plus I wouldn't want to spoil it for those who haven't seen the film - for those who have if you found it amusing like I did then you'll know which bit I'm talking about! Obviously, there are serious bits too and you can really feel for the characters in certain parts, especially as audience members you find yourself wanting to just tell them to sit and talk to each other but, I think this is exactly the kind of attitude the director wanted us to feel so that we can feel as though we are 'involved' in the film. I highly recommend this film to everyone as it is not all serious and is quite funny so makes a good film to watch for an evening in!
The film is available to buy from various online and high street stores and prices start at around the £5 mark so it is not too bad at all!

Advantages: Unpredictable in places; laugh out loud funny; uplifting, not a stereotypical 'chick flick'. Disadvantages: Predictable in places, Gary changes more than is believable, Gender stereotypes.
