Yes, the kiddoes in BWP aren't always so bright, they keep the filming going too long when they should do something more useful and they bicker and get on each other's and our nerves and don't always do what we might do. In other words, they are like real college students. But this is a scary movie that has a very good creepy atmosphere....something harder to capture than most people realize. The woods look dead and drained of life. The mental deterioration that comes from being lost in the woods and knowing that your chances of getting out are getting worse by the minute is very effectively done - to me that is the real horror of the movie and one which I can relate to more than any supernatural monster. You have to understand that the twigs and piles of stones are battering the minds of people already lost, hungry, tired and getting very desperate, and they would freak me out too. Heather's confession scene is a classic. The last scene is also a classic. I like ambiguity of it all, which is why BWP is on my shelf next to that other classic where horrible but uncertain things happen, Picnic At Hanging Rock.
