Pirates of the Caribbean - The Curse of the Black Pearl
Captain Jack Sparrow?s pirate life is thrown into turmoil after his former first mate, Captain Barbossa mutinied and commandeered his ship, the infamous Black Pearl.
Barbossa left Jack on a deserted island thinking that would be the last he saw him, but unfortunately for Barbossa (but not for us) Jack managed to escape.
We catch up with Captain Jack several years later sailing into Port Royal (I say sailing , but the boat he has commandeered is sinking and he?s more bobbing along than sailing really). Once he's docked in Port Royal his mission is to find a replacement ship and fast.
His plan however is sidetracked when whilst trying to charm two of the Governor?s men to let him board their ship he sees a lady fall from the cliff top. The lady in question turns out to ...
The first Pirates of the Caribbean film, The Curse of the Black Pearl is a fantastic swashbuckling, action-adventure story that spawned a trilogy of films.
This film is about the adventures of rogue pirate, Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp), a blacksmith, Will Turner (Orlando Bloom) and Elizabeth Swann (Keira Knightley), daughter of Governor Weatherby Swann (Jonathan Pryce). When Elizabeth is kidnapped by the evil Captain Barbossa (Geoffrey Rush) and the treacherous crew of the Black Pearl, Will joins forces with Jack, who used to be Captain of the Black Pearl, to rescue her. However they discover the secret curse of the Black Pearl and the role that Will and Elizabeth play in breaking it.

Pirates of the Caribbean at World end is the third movie in the Pirates trilogy. It follows the crew of the Black Pearl (the Pirate ship) rescuing Jack Sparrow from Davy Jones' locker and then preparing to fight the East Indian Trading Company who are intent on extinguishing piracy. I'm not going to spoil the rest of the plot/movie for you as I believe you should see it for yourself so I will just now review the rest of the DVD and what I thought of the film/films.
At the box office it was actually the most successful film of 2007 and is the second most successful film in the series. I think even if action and adventure films aren't for you (they aren't my most favourite) this would still be a film you like as it is very funny in places, the sets are brilliant and the action really is very well choreographed. My one complaint with it ...

DVD Description
Douglas Fairbanks plays a nobleman who wants to revenge his father's murder, so he boards a pirate vessel disguised as one of the thieving, villainous rapscallions, and sets about achieving his goal. This swashbuckling nautical adventure made film history as one of the first full features shot entirely in Technicolor. On the high seas, the athletic Fairbanks provides a no-holds barred, rip-roaring, stunt-filled voyage -- complete with a one-man takeover of a merchant ship.
