The idea goes something like this. Take an old joke that has been passed down from comedian to comedian through the ages and have a hundred comedians dissect the joke and tell it in their own way.
If that sounds like it'll never work, then this is not the film for you. Furthermore, if you're in the slightest bit squeamish about references to deviant sex including incest, bestiality, pedophilia, necrophilia, defecation, micturition, vomiting, midgets ... ...The Aristocrats is the documentary brainchild of Paul Provenza and Penn Jillette (he's the more talkative of Penn and Teller). They used an old gag which may date back to Vaudeville as the basis for a wonderfully meandering filmed discussion about comedy and comedians.
The set up for the joke ("A man walks into a talent agent's office…") and the punchline ("…The Aristocrats!") are less important that the journey each individual teller takes. One ...

My partner rented this film the other evening for us to watch as one of his work mates had recommended it.
we settled down to watch it after the children had gone to bed and to be hoenst i was totally shocked and horrified as to what some people think is funny.
I am no prude in anyway and have always been told by my friends that i have a wicked sense of humour but the comments being made on this film and turned into what they call a joke is not ... ...a Blow job (please excuse the expression but that is exactly what he meant but in a even filthier way)is beyond my comprehension
i feel some of the comedians as they call themselves on this film need to seek professional phyciatric help if they think that what they are making jokes of is funny.
i am in no way immplying that what they are telling jokes about are true events but i feel that anyone who can make a joke of children performing sexual ...
