...Douglas Adams famously suffered from Writers Block for most of his career. When he wrote Hitchhiker Guide as a radio series for BBC 4 so many years ago, it seemed that whilst listening to the series writing came easily to Douglas but this was far from the truth. It was said that at times Douglas could agonise for days over a single paragraph. Every line was carefully crafted by his rare weird genius and the proof was in the constant laughter coming from myself and my brothers while we listened to the show every week. When the books came out we bought them as soon as they hit the shelves and read for ourselves the lines that we'd listened to on the radio and again howls of laughter could be heard from our bedrooms. ...to Trillian. Cast Includes: Martin Freeman Arthur Dent Mos Def Ford Prefect Zooey Deschanel Trillian Sam Rockwell Zaphod Beeblebrox Stephen Fry Narrator/The Guide (voice of) Warwick Davis Marvin (voice by Alan Rickman) and others .... Casting is often one point where other reviews claim the movie falls down, but I like the casting. Sam Rockwell is great as bumbling idiot Zaphod and Zooey Deschanel makes a good Trillian. I also really liked that Stephen Fry was the voice of the book, it seemed to fit him well, although was a little strange to hear a british accent among all those Americans. I wasn't a fan of the animation that went with many of the Guide entries though as they seemed to distract away from what was actually being said in voice over. ...It was back in 1994, World Cup fever in the US. At the time, I couldn't believe this DVD would exist, especially Ryan Giggs has always been my all-time hero for both Manchester United and football as a whole. I bought this DVD immediately and watch it as I got back. The DVD plays the whole chapters including Ryan Giggs and Bobby Charlton guiding and teaching basic soccer skills, techniques and set pieces. Then there's the Production Interview section covering Ryan Giggs's interview on his career and the making of this DVD. The final section, Additional Footage showcase some significant footage featuring Ryan Giggs playing for Manchester United during his early career and scoring wonderful goals.
