**Where did the story come from** Many people know this story if you don't I fill you in on the details. It was a raining, stormy November night in 1974 and Ronny DeFoe awoke at 3:15am and shot each member of his family, no-one tried to get away and no one heard the gun. They were all killed in their beds arms above their heads. Later on in the year Ronny was arrested, He was sent to prison but he blamed voices on his horrible actions. This has left the house on the market then here comes the main part of our story...
**The other Amityville horrors** I have seen the original and I thought it was good, until I saw this it is sssooo much better. So I would see this one out of the two as its more advanced and is more scary.
**The plot** George Lutz (Ryan Reynolds) has just married Kathy Lutz (Melissa George played Angel in home and away). Kathy has 3 children, 2 boys and a girl. They need to move house and they find the ad for this house in the newspaper they go and look at the house and wonder why is it at such a low cost for the style and size of the house. They ask the estate agent why is it so low. "...there was a murder..." was what they got. But they decide to move in anyway (why would someone do that?!?!?) And then things start to... happen.... like Chelsea the young daughter finding a new friend.. a sort of dead friend. This is a great story and is adapted from the old story adding in new ideas (some of them DID NOT REALLY HAPPEN!) but some of the things you see come onto your screen while you watched this film actually happened to the Lutz family. So think I'm glad it didn't happen to me!
**special effects** They are some of the best I've seen in horror movies. There are some bits where the little girl looks real. Everything that happens looks really weird, it makes you want to go hide in a corner somewhere. I was actually scared when I watched this because it all looked so real.
**my experience** I think this is a great film and I truly love to watch this. There is one part in the bathroom I didn't like after I was scared to turn the tap on and look in the mirror! A few days ago when I was ill my mum and i was going to watch it but when it came to this part she made me turn off because it was too scary for her!! She said this is probably not a good film for mothers because of how it manages to scare the children in the film. But I love it!
**special features**
*Making of the feaurette This shows you how they did all the cool stuff on the film.. worth watching
*Deleted scenes I haven't seen this yet but may be cool to see what they decided not to put in the film
*Commentary with Ryan Reynolds and the producers I never listen to it, but it would be great to hear what the star was thinking when he did some of the shots.
*"Supernatural homicide" I watched this was sort of scary, especially when suddenly there was a powercut. Shows from a supernatural side what could have happened.
*Photo gallery* Look at some of the picture stills from the film.
*Multi-angle on set peeks I haven't seen this yet but looks good.
Conclusion This is one scare the life out of you films. this is great for any one who loves a scare and wants to have a laugh at friends then say "haha look how high you jumped!! haha" But this isn't good for anyone how loves the original. Overall excellent film and well worth the time and the money to see it.
