Advantages: A Great Film Disadvantages: What Disadvantages?
Well this film has to be one of the best around. I apsolutely love this film and this new specialedition really adds to the experience. Crammed full of special features I can watch this film over and over again.
--- Brief Synopsis ---
The story follows the traditional story of robinhood, which if you haven't heard it (where have you been if you haven't?) is as follows. Son of a rich nobleman (Robin of Locksley) returns from the third crusade where he has been fighting with Richard the Lion Heart. On his return he discovers that the evil brother prince John (later king john) aided by the sheriff of Nottingham has userpt the throne, he has also excommunicated Robin's father. Finding no friends in enlands nobility he is force to flee into Sherwood forest where he meets and joins a band of outlaws. He then wages a guerrilla war ...
Advantages: Great acting, excellent storyline and effects Disadvantages: None from me
and effort went into the making of this film and the costume and sets were all very well made and looked authentic. I think the special effects which were used were also very good and none of them managed to look out of place.
The music for me was indeed very good and I loved the tracks which were placed throughout the film. I think they managed to add to the emotions and feel of the film and for me I was always able to tell when the bad men were coming as the music would suddenly change. The one track which really does stand out for me is the Brian Adams song which stayed for what seems a lifetime at the top spot in the charts. I did notice that the music without the lyrics was played a lot in the film and not just at the end.
As I said at the beginning of this review, I am only reviewing the film which I do not have on DVD anymore so I ...
Advantages: Dramatic, Good Acting, Fantastic Soundtrack, Brilliant Plot! Disadvantages: Would have loved more Special Features :(
I am a RobinHood addict. (Richard Armitage and Jonas Armstrong are just one of the reasons... If you get my drift)
What Is It?
This DVD contains the first five episodes of the BBC new series about the legendary outlaw, RobinHood. This was first shown on the BBC, and later released as DVD's, however they can now be bought as a full box set, and no longer per every 5 episodes. There are three volumes in this series, all of which I own. This is another take on the outlaw, and is seen to give him a new light and make him much more exciting and thrilling. This is PG rated and is suitable for children, as long as you don't mind them watching the odd sword fight.
Since 2006, a new series of RobinHood was shown on the BBC and most recently series 3 is on our screens. I watched the first episode of series one and since then have ...
The outlaw Robin Hood comes to the rescue of the throne of England by outwitting Guy Gisbourne and the Sheriff Of Nottingham. Newly remastered using the new 'Ultra-Resolution' technique allowing parts of the images to be seen which were not visible before.

DVD Description
In Michael Curtiz's swashbuckling spectacle about the infamous outlaw and his band of merry men who "robbed from the rich and gave to the poor," Robin Hood (Errol Flynn) fights nobly for justice against the evil Sir Guy of Gisbourne (Basil Rathbone) while striving to win the hand of the beautiful Maid Marian (Olivia de Havilland). Flynn joyously embraces the role widely considered the best of his bountiful array of swashbuckling legends. Delivering his lines and performing dashing acrobatics (he did most of his own stunts) with breezy elan, he darts across the intricate sets of THE ADVENTURES OF ROBIN HOOD as if there are rocket boosters secreted in his tights. It was one of the earliest films to use three-colour Technicolor and, at the time, the most expensive film Warner Bros. had produced. Erich Wolfgang Korngold's outstanding score won an Oscar, as did the art direction and the editing.
