Alien Abduction? whish I had been.

Advantages: better than Eastenders
Disadvantages: worse than Coronation street.

Alien Abduction. To be honest I found this quite a difficult film to understand, and by the time I got the jest of what was happening, I had become bored. I'm usually a big fan of anything like this, but this film was done possibly to clever for its own good, It was quite confusing, who was who? What was what? And where were they all sounds good on paper, but it was so confusing I think they confused themselves and it killed the film. I don't think it was based on any kind of evidence, just some writers thoughts of how, an alien abduction would be like, and an attempt at a possible reason and answer as to why. The film itself, is about 4 adult friends on a camping trip, leading character Jean, thinks she has spotted something, whilst walking around the site with her camcorder, after originally disbelieving her, she and her ...

Review of Alien Abduction (DVD)

This book will Abduct you.

Advantages: superb characters and story telling
Disadvantages: relies on some amazing coincidences to keep the plot together.

Hot on the heels of his debut best-seller, The Colour of Law, lawyer turned author Mark Gimenez, quite surprisingly, stops the critics in their tracks by writing a novel that has little to do with the legal profession. The Abduction is about the kidnapping of a ten year old girl, Gracie Ann Brice. Her mother, hotshot lawyer Elizabeth Brice comes to collect Grace from soccer practice to be told she has been collected by her uncle. Unfortunately, Grace does not have an uncle. This is then the start of the nightmare for Elizabeth and he husband John. However, it's John's dad, Ben Brice who is hit hardest. Ben is ex Vietnam Vet and recovering alcoholic who has no relationship at all with his son although grand father/grand daughter have a very close relationship and are devoted to each other. It is John's aim therefore to get Grace ...

Review of The Abduction - Mark Gimenez

Worth Being Abducted For

Advantages: Entertaining tale of Alien abduction
Disadvantages: None at all

of control, jumping out of his skin at the most irrational things. While Anne initially puts his behaviour down to writers block, it's only a matter of time before things get out of control and the subject of Alien abduction is laid on the table. Communion is an incredibly compelling movie that you either take onboard, or dismiss in the first 10 minutes. Those open minded and with wide taste in movies will undoubtedly welcome the movie with open arms; you see this is no conventional movie. Flicking at the drop of a hat from the reality to the possible fiction Communion offers some very unusual scenes which go from being odd, to borderline hysterical. While it hits the subject of Alien abduction head on and with great seriousness, a combination of Whitley's unique personality and a stark image of how people claiming to have been abducted by ...
