The ABBA Story The Winner Takes It All (DVD)

Disadvantages: Some may find predictable/ Plot a little thin/ Amanda Seyfrieds part could have been better casted

...men to the wedding to find out who actually is her father after all. But when they all turn up on the same boat together, Sophie begins to wonder what she has got herself into and of course the repercussions will leave nobody untouched. I can't deny I was thoroughly entertained by this film. I guess liking ABBA had something to do with it. But other than that the film had a likable and engrossing story at it's heart and was lit up by some magical performances. It too had some flaws but in this particular case that only seemed to add to the films allure. Meryl Streep as always turned in a great performance as Donna. Her singing was surprisingly good especially her big solo in 'The Winner Takes It All'. And she genuinely seems to be having fun during all her vocal performances. ...Onto the third book in the Doctor Who new series adventures, "Winner Takes All" by Jacqueline Rayner. I've heard, around the fandom, that most people aren't very impressed with this book, but I really enjoyed it. So much so that I read it in one sitting. **Blurb** (from the back of the book) Rose and the Doctor return to present-day Earth, and become intrigued by the latest craze - the video game, Death to Mantodeans. Is it as harmless as it seems? And why are so many local people going on holiday and never returning? Meanwhile, on another world, an alien war is raging. The Quevvils need to find a new means of attacking the ruthless Mantodeans. Searching the galaxy for cunning, warlike and gullible allies, they find the ideal soldiers - on Earth. Advantages: A nice fantasy book.
Disadvantages: It is just science fiction.

...The book is based upon the long running british science fiction television series Doctor Who. The travveller of the times returns to the present day, and got into the computer game Death to Mantodeans: this is a game for which there is a big cash award for the first person to finish it, and no one has yet. To solve the game it is necessary to solve a bunch of puzzles, and semmes to have a glitch, as half the time it doesn't save your game and you have to start over. Doctor Who solve one of the puzzles, causing a door to open and monsters that look like giant prying mantises show up on the other side. But I prefer let the whole book unknow to you untill you will start reading that: so, I stop here and leave the rest to your immagination.... Read review
