Terror Train (DVD)

Advantages: Some decent moments, somehow kept me watching until the end
Disadvantages: Mostly really bad across the board

...This is a DVD I picked up for £1 a couple of years ago. I suppose the price should have told me something, but I gave it a shot, hoping to have found a bit of a gem. Face of Terror follows Nick Harper as he tries to find his missing sister in Barcelona. While travelling from the States to Spain without permission from his boss, cop Nick finds himself in even more hot water when he arrives in Europe to find that his sister had fallen in with the wrong crowd. As he trawls through dodgy photographers, drug dealers and terrorists, Nick realises he must have his wits about him if he is to find his sister before he loses his life. Ultimately, it's distinctly average in nearly every way. with a pretty mundane plot, some terrible acting, and some bad timing in the editing stakes. And yet, strangely, there's something intriguing about it... Read review

Advantages: Fabulous story, fabulous atmosphere and fabulous acting
Disadvantages: A very few irksome things but neglible

...Alfred Hitchcock?s Strangers on a Train - excellent movie! I could leave it that but of course I won?t. I?d had this 2 disk special edition in my DVD collection for a while before I got around to watching it. I really should have watched it as soon as I bought it. Not that I need an excuse to watch it all over again. There is no law that says you have to wait any given period of time before you can watch a film that you enjoyed all over again! WHAT?S IT ALL ABOUT? Guy Haynes is travelling on a train and get into conversation with a stranger Bruno Anthony. Guy is a semi-professional tennis player and is somewhat flattered that Bruno recognises him. During their conversation Bruno brings up Guy?s soon to be (hopefully) ex-wife Miriam and current girlfriend Ann Morton who is the daughter of senator. Guy is not very interested... Read review

Advantages: none really
Disadvantages: poor acting, blatant copying of plot, shall I go on?

...Vishal and Anjali Dixit are settled in Bangkok with their young daughter who has diabetes and is awaiting an organ transplant. The marriage in under stress so when Vishal meets the beautiful Roma, also married with a small child and having marital problems, on the train on the way to work they become friends and start to develop feelings for each other. The day they decide to take their relationship to the next level and book into a hotel, they are robbed in the hotel room and Roma is raped whilst Vishal lies helpless on the floor. Anjali is worried about Vishal's behaviour and he tries to repair his marriage only for someone to start blackmailing him about the incident in the hotel room. Vishal's life is turned upside down and gets worse and worse. Will Vishal be able to gain control of his life again? Will Anjali find out about... Read review
