The Terminator is a great movie that even now stands the test of time.
You just know that you are in for a treat when you see a naked Arnold Schwarzenegger at the start, walk up to a bunch of street punks, and put his fist through the torso of the dude who stabs him after being ordered by Arnie to give up his clothes and boots.
What follows is Arnie attempting to win the future war against mankind by murdering his way through the Los Angeles phonebook in search of Sarah Connor.
Luckily for LInda Hamilton's character, her name is the last of the Sarah Connors in the directory, so she has time to be stalked by a scruffy bloke in a trenchcoat. He turns out to be Kyle Reese, future freedom fighter, and father of Sarah Connor's unconcieved child, John Connor-saviour of mankind.
After numerous chases and dead policemen, Kyle Reese dies, Arnie gets crushed in a press, and Sarah Connor moves south to have a baby and to avoid the coming nuclear war.
The end.
This is beyond a doubt the best action movie of the eighties, which still stands the test of time. It has generated huge amounts of revenue and profits for Hollywood, and spawned two good money making sequels, so what more could they ask for?
More money!!
Lets take the movie and alter it a little, slap the words 'Ultimate Edition' to the title, whack a huge mark-up on it and flog it to the poor suckers who bought the movie in VHS format when it was first released, then DVD format when that came out.
Thanks Hollywood.
