Advantages: good film to watch Disadvantages: maybes bit long
...it is very plot-driven). The Terminator himself (played by Arnold Schwarzenegger of the "Conan" series) is treated like a movie monster. The early part of the film acts as a slasher flick as he goes from house to house killing off humans. Suspenseful music and darkened rooms abound. Later, as the backstory gets more fleshed out, the film becomes essentially a straight-up robotic cat and living mouse action movie. The concept of the Terminator is ... ...destroying you and possibly cannot be stopped no matter what you throw at it.
Another great aspect of the film is the underlying message it conveys. It shows that everyone has some purpose on the planet. You never know what your existence might mean in the long run. Sure most people won't take that message to heart, but the fact that a moral or a subtle concept like that exists in a destruction fest such as this really says something good about ...

Advantages: Best movie of the eighties Disadvantages: Yet another re-relaesed, messed with movie
The Terminator is a great movie that even now stands the test of time.
You just know that you are in for a treat when you see a naked Arnold Schwarzenegger at the start, walk up to a bunch of street punks, and put his fist through the torso of the dude who stabs him after being ordered by Arnie to give up his clothes and boots.
What follows is Arnie attempting to win the future war against mankind by murdering his way through the Los Angeles phonebook ... ...character, her name is the last of the Sarah Connors in the directory, so she has time to be stalked by a scruffy bloke in a trenchcoat. He turns out to be Kyle Reese, future freedom fighter, and father of Sarah Connor's unconcieved child, John Connor-saviour of mankind.
After numerous chases and dead policemen, Kyle Reese dies, Arnie gets crushed in a press, and Sarah Connor moves south to have a baby and to avoid the coming nuclear war.
The end.

Advantages: you could watch this film over and over again Disadvantages: none
...elements of the story. The Terminator is a cyborg, so it naturally does what a cyborg would do. It stares coldly at its targets, scanning them, before pulling out its gun and blowing them away. This could have been one of the film elements that became unintentionally comical. A thing that just stares coldly at someone is not something that one may be afraid of…unless, it was done properly. There are many elements in Cameron’s script that help turn ... ...doesn’t direct the Terminator to do anything too over the top. The stare is exactly what it is supposed to be, cold and methodical. One may think that this is one of those campy elements, but anyone who sees the stupendous work done with the character will become a believer. Scenes like the Terminator repairing damaged parts after vicious gun battles may not seem like much, until one realises that all this thing has to do to heal itself is a quick ...

...'Terminator 2: The UltimateEdition DVD' truly lives up to it's title. It's amazing how many features they have crammed into one double sided DVD.
This wonderful film is written and directed by James Cameron and is about John Connor (Edward Furlong) and a reprogrammed T800 terminator machine (Arnold Schwarzenneger) who has been sent back in time to the year 1994 (By John Connor himself) to protect him from an advanced T1000 mimetic poly-aloy terminator (Robert Patrick). Sarah Conner meanwhile has been locked up in a psychiatric hospital run by the slimy Doctor Silberman.
The film is very dramatic, it explores the dark side of human nature - It's not the machines that are bad it's the people that made them. This element is further enhanced by the fact that Sarah Connor goes out to murder another human being 'Miles Dyson' who has...

Advantages: Great Presentation, a perfect movie and great action. Disadvantages: None!
...'Terminator 2: The UltimateEdition DVD' truely lives up to it's title. It's amazing how many features they have crammed into one double sided DVD. It truely surpasses anything out on DVD at the moment.
The main story is a tale of friendship between John Connor and his Terminator almost along the same lines of say 'E.T.' but with tons of action and carnage. There is a brilliant canal chase sequence...

Actor(s): Arnold Schwarzenegger, Michael Biehn, Linda Hamilton, Paul Winfield
Director(s): James Cameron
Genre: Action & Adventure
Classification: 15 years and over
Running Time: 1 hour 43 minutes
Video Category: Feature Film
Plot: James Cameron's THE TERMINATOR is one of the tightest, tensest sci-fi films ever made and a landmark in the genre. In the year 2029, battles rage between the superintelligent machines that rule the world and the last vestiges of humanity. In late-20th-century Los Angeles, Sarah Connor (Linda Hamilton) suddenly finds herself stalked by an unstoppable killing machine--a Terminator (Arnold Schwarzenegger) sent from the future to kill her and her unconceived son, John Connor, the future leader of the human resistance. Sarah can rely only on Reese (Michael Biehn), a soldier sent from the future to protect her from the seemingly indestructible Terminator and save humanity. This low-budget masterpiece was the breakthrough film for director Cameron, who weds special effects, thrills, and understated romance to create one of the finest action films of the 1980s, which spawned many imitations but few equals. Science fiction author Harlan Ellison sued over the film's similarities to his own works, especially the OUTER LIMITS episode 'Demon with a Glass Hand', and won acknowledgement in the film's credits. Schwarzenegger will forever be known as the relentless Terminator, a heartless killing machine who returns (in a kinder, gentler form) in 1991's TERMINATOR 2: JUDGMENT DAY.
