The story doesn't need to be elaborated, its a plain man v/s machine battle, set in 2018. I am not a fan of Wham wham thank you ma'm kind of films,i would rather watch a story with lots of humanly action if the genre has to fall under action.Blame it on the technology or the craze of futuristic concepts, the order of the day seems to be robots and machines fighting it out with humans.I guess that makes the concept very novel, saving mankind and similar attributes.
The director also emphasizes on human emotion and some time is spent giving both the principal characters some emotional backdrop which works for the film.Behind all the action bonanza and explosions, the film has a soul and somehow works for the audience. The film does fall flat in between from 30 to 50 minutes but picks up before interval and is consistently above average till the end.
The story has all the commercial trappings of a big budget hollywood film, the involvement of more than two parties, the guessing game the director plays with the audiences with certain doubtful characters, with good prevailing over evil, etc.
Christian Bale is one of the major reasons for the film to work,he is in fantastic form.He seems to be great with such action flicks(first Batman, now this) which requires him to flaunt his deep voice!
I just hoped that they would finally close the chapter, but they kept it open.A rather annoying fact because it would never come to an end like this!
Advantages: Entertaining - good story - great special-effects. Disadvantages: Colour is a bit bland - a few continuity problems caught on tape.
of the timely appearance of Resistance fighters in A-10 aircraft.
Marcus manages to find a survivor from one of the downed A-10?s, a pilot named Blair Williams, and although he is in a hurry to find Kyle and Star before they are? terminated? Blair convinces him to travel back with her to base where John Connor will undoubtedly help him in his search for Kyle.
?TerminatorSalvation?, unlike most sequels, did not landslide its way down to sequel oblivion? more has it been a snail?s pace descent that seems to have been blocked by open-minded fans willing to make allowances ? which is why it has stabilised at a 7 star rating out of 10 on IMDB and wavers between a 3 and 3.5 star out of 5 on almost every other site. Everyone agrees ? this is a satisfactory to good movie that is worthy of the 115 minutes of attention it demands (director?s cut is ...

As rule of thumb the fourth movie is usually one too many in film franchises, Alien Resurrection, The Phantom Menace and, of course, Jaws 4: The Revenge, all you need to know on that score! The horse should have been well and truly flogged in the trilogy to avoid the fourth film temptation. But when there's money to be made and the chance to spin some video games and merchandize off another one then integrity is hurled out of the window, why I feared the worse for T4, the unwelcome prequel to probably the greatest action trilogy there has ever been a good way to spoil that tag for me.
The original Terminator film wasn't the greatest action movie ever made but it certainly made Arnie. When he got the script for it he told his agent he would have to cancel his ...
Advantages: action scenes are top notch Disadvantages: acting is very basic
I have to admit I came to this film a bit unsure. In my mind Terminator means Arnie, and vice versa. Still, Andrew wanted to watch it, so we gave it a go.
First off, the storyline is pretty confusing. It involves a mix of being set in the past and the future and having some characters either from past or future depending on who you believe. Some scenes take place in 2003, whilst the majority of the film is in 2018. Even after reading the IMDB.com explanation, it's still pretty confusing, so that's point number one: this has a confusing plot. If you're one of those people who struggles to keep up with difficult plots, then give it a miss!
What I can say is that it basically revolves around John Connor taking on Skynet, and attempting to rescue a child version of his dad at the same time, whilst trying to work out whether he can ...

McG has sparked a moribund franchise back to life, giving fans the post-apocalyptic action they’ve been craving since they first saw a metal foot crush a human skull two decades ago (Empire, 19/10/2009)
This is the film TERMINATOR fans have been desperate to see. There's a damn good film here (Sunday Mail, 19/10/2009)
As in the previous two movies, there is, along with the extreme violence and destruction, a lot of wit in the proceedings (The Observer, 19/10/2009)
The TERMINATOR story recharges with a post-apocalyptic jolt of energy. Frantic and full of welcome ties to the past, it also ploughs new ground with purpose (Total Film, 19/10/2009)
Darker, grimmer and more stylistically single-minded than its two relatively giddy predecessors, TERMINATOR SALVATION boasts the kind of singular vision that distinguished the James Cameron original, the full-throttle kinetics of SPEED and an old-fashioned regard for human (and humanoid) heroics (Variety, 19/10/2009)

After reinvigorating the world of the Caped Crusader with BATMAN BEGINS and THE DARK KNIGHT, Christian Bale turns his talents to an altogether different franchise with this fourth film in the TERMINAROR series. The Welsh actor plays John Connor, who joins forces with Marcus Wright (Sam Worthington) to battle Skynet. TERMINATOR SALVATION is directed by McG (CHARLIE'S ANGELS).
