Hey I'm Andy, from Northern Ireland, 22 year of age :) on here to review some products, probably mostly DVDs as I am a huge movie fan and can be quite harsh about even blockbuster films so keep an eye out for my reviews.

If you asked me to name the best films of the 90's Judgement Day would be right up there. While not as climatic as the original Terminator, this second instalment gets a huge injection of Hollywood and provides basically everything you've ever wanted from a sci-fi film, including some of the best special effects seen at the time. Terminator is truly a modern classic in every meaning of the sense.
After failing in the first film, another more advanced Terminator, the T1000, is sent back in time to try and destroy John Conner, the son of Sarah Conner, who will become leader of a human resistance in the future in a war between man and machine. The only thing standing between him and certain death is a familiar face, the T800 from the original film. The story, while it may be far fetched, is truly deep and engrossing, this may be to do with James Cameron's brilliant character development which has you on the edge of your seat, finding yourself actually caring about what will happen to the characters.
The cast of the film is absolutely spectacular, each of them deliver a performance in a role each of them seem to be made for. Anyone who's seen the original film will already be familiar with the T800 (Schwarzenegger) and Sarah Conner (Hamilton). Arnies basically his same old self, he plays the cybernetic organism to a tee, although he seems more remorseful this time around and we get to delve deeper into his nature and lack of emotions. Sarah Conner has had a remake, she's now harder and tougher than the fragile Hamilton we once knew, a great performance showing an increasingly paranoid and almost insane mother trying to look out for her son. The T1000, played the Robert Patrick is, in my opinion, possibly one of the most perfectly played bad guys in the history of the screen. The look, the lack of emotion, the finger wag, absolutely outstanding, this guys actually gives you chills up your spine.
Obviously the special effects these days are quite outdated, although I'm going to review them based on the date of release. Basically everything that Cameron wanted to achieve with the first film, but was unable to due to a lack of funds and CGI, he has achieved in Judgement Day and it pays off. Herein lies some of the best action scenes even to this day, wether its a chase on a Harley or in the back of a SWAT van, your constantly on the edge of your seat with adrenaline. Its seriously intense and only slows down so we can learn more about the characters and their situation. Perfectly paced.
The music by Brad Fiedel is superb, the theme song itself is great, the mood of the music always matches the mood of the scene and the sound effects are great (especially the gloop sound when the T1000 is shot). The sound truly is top class and cannot be put down in any way.
Overall Terminator 2 is a great sci-fi, time travelling, cybernetic, apocalyptic film, and truly is one of the best of its type made. All of the credit has to go to James Cameron who wrote and directed Judgement Day. While some may criticise that there is perhaps too much Hollywood influence as opposed to the previous film, I think it adds the big budget that the series needed to go forward. I would recommend the film to anyone and everyone, its a must see film. Period.
