Cecil B. DeMille's 1956 remake of his epic 'The Ten Commandments'.Filmed in Egypt and the Sinai, with one of the biggest sets ever constructed for a motion picture, this version tells the story of the life of Moses, (Charlton Heston) once favoured in the Pharaoh's (Yul Brynner) household, who turned his back on a privileged life to lead his people to freedom. One of the best Christian films which won many awards is the "The TenCommandments" as compared with "Ben Hur" which won many oscar awards.
Iam going to talk about what is so interesting in this film. This film is based on the book of Exodus taken from the Bible.
This film is about how Moses was born when Israelites where taken to captivity and being treated as slaves by the Egyptians. There were 9 plagues followed by which "Pharaoh" releases the Israelites followed by the parting of Red Sea.
What's so interesting in this film is that "The 9 Plagues" occured only on Egyptians place and not on Israelites area i.e "Gorshen".
And then the parting of "Red Sea". You see the Israelites where in a situation where by they were caught up between the Egyptians and Red Sea. It seems as if there was no way out but you can see "God's Power ...
Advantages: One of the best loved classics Disadvantages: none
needed some one seductive and voluptuous, and the role went to Anne Baxter. She looks all of that, teasing Moses and Ramses in turns, but loving Moses all the time. I liked her best in the scene where she realises that she is going to loose Moses and she is unable to control her anguish and emotions , and, goes to plead with Moses...
The scenes in this film are spellbinding, be it the parting of the Red sea or the deliverance of the TenCommandments or the Pyramids being built.. Definitely very very spectacular.
This movie is a favorite with the children and adults alike .By now I must have watched this film a dozen number of times at least. The same with my children. It is a true ageless Classic.
I wholeheartedly recommend this film as a must watch Classic

I saw the show live, and the DVD has been watched numerous times. It is still hard not to raise a smile when Ricky explains to the audience about this new theory that contradicts Darwin's version of events that he 'found in a dusty old book in the library'... 'It's called the bible.. '.. 'And it's called The Gospel - so it must be true - clue's in the name!'
The show goes on, covering everything from Sharks and Nazis - "sharks good, nazis less so.." to homosexuality in the jungle and of course the tale of Adam and Eve and how the poor snake was forced to crawl on his belly for the rest of his days - "not the worst possible punishment for a snake.." A fabulous DVD and a wonderful show. Check out the 'extras' on the DVD if you are still unconvinced ...
