...from tree & sound of gunshot
It started off with realistic(if not real?) footage and I thought it may be a decent if oft played story but tailed off very quickly. The Countess refused to watch this film as she is sensative to any sort of violence in films(mild peril being ok eg rugrats the movie) but there wansnt anything too graphic in this one. There was some amazing scenery in the film but finding out it was Hawaii and not Nigeria kind of spoiled this - If I wanted to watch a nature program I would..........etc
The soundtrack was quite haunting though & I did find myself a little bit on the edge of my seat during some of the more tense moments but that could just be down to the mood I was in tonight.
Overall - watch 3 kings or the wild geese (In my opinion) 4/10

Advantages: Good storyline, great acting from beginning to end Disadvantages: none
...I found Tears of the Sun to be a brilliant action-drama movie which is entertaining from beginning to end. It remains true to life without going over the top and managed to keep me gripped all the way through.
There are some very good action scenes and all of the acting was good, This film does an outstanding job of showing the way some people in some countries are so inhumane. although the film is not based on a true story, the torture and atrocities have happened and continue on a regular basis. This film portrays this brilliantly and at times I was simply moved to tears.
Bruce Willis plays Lieutenant Waters who, along with a small group of soldiers is sent into Nigeria to rescue an american missionary, Dr. Kendricks played by Monica Bellucci. The rebel troops have killed the elected president and his family, and are...

Advantages: One the edge of the seat stuff Disadvantages: Upsetting
...I’d never go into the video store and pick out a war film but Craig would, I usually moan at him and then give in and mostly I always end up enjoying it and Tears of The Sun is certainly no different.
Tears of The Sun is brought to us by Director Antoine Fuqua (Training Day, The Replacement Killers), I don’t really feel able to comment on his talents at this stage but I did find Training Day to be rather graphic and probably wouldn’t watch it again and as for The Replacement Killers, I’m sorry to say I’ve never seen it.
The only big named star that appears in the film is Bruce Willis, and I do normally happen to be a fan of his but I have to admit to being rather dubious about seeing him play a part in a war movie but he certainly lived up to the part and very well at that, he played a magnificent...
