Advantages: classic horror, legendary horror icon, great value Disadvantages: they get slightly worse
Having first seen the original Nightmare On Elm Street in 1995, from that moment on I became hooked on the entire franchise. Of course the original spawned many sequels including the final chapter - Wes Cravens New Nightmare and more recently - Freddy v Jason (which I believe are both absolutely fantastic). Of course as we all know the series does get worse from Part1 onwards but in my opinion doesn't mean the series is ruined. Yes, the original is by far the best but I still rate all the sequels very highly.
As far as this boxset goes I believe it to be incredible value for money. All 6 films together for just 19.99 (I got it in an HMV sale by complete luck). The only thing that does annoy me is the fact that I had to purchase 'Wes Cravens New Nightmare' by itself because it isn't part of the set (although I ended up getting that ...
Advantages: none Disadvantages: loads of scenes and music scores have been cut out
this is the only fools and horses complete collection boxset but in my eyes it isnt because loads of scenes have been cut and musical scores changed or cut out and laughter tracks added onto episodes that didnt originally have a laughter track. so its not really the complete collection is it with all these things changed and added the episode a royal flush is the one that been edited the most loads of scenes have been cut and a laughter track added wich spoils the episode completely. i would strongly recommend anyone that want to see all the episodes in all their glory is to tape them off uk gold its better than this so called complete collection that the bbc have released im still waiting for the genuine complete collection. ...
Advantages: great films and retro horror Disadvantages: bad cgi
1, 2, Freddy's Coming For You
3, 4, Better Lock Your Door
5, 6, Grab A Crucifix
7, 8, Better Stay Up Late
9, 10, Never Sleep Again...
This collection of Freddy mayhem will have you entertained for hours, from its blood soaked rooms to its humour. It changed the horror movie business when it was release and is arguably the best horror to grace our world... Freddy, Michael and Jason are the 3 icons of classic horror (with Ash a close behind).
The first time i saw Nightmare on Elm street was when I was a young kid, and that night I watched it I had a nightmare of him... He chased me to school, every kids nightmare is going to school (isn't it?).
The DVDboxset is a great buy for all you horror fans. It has every movie and some special features, I bought this around a year ago and have watched it many times ...
