Taxi 3 (DVD)

Taxi - A once watch film.

Advantages: Very high paced, Some good Humour, Music and A lot of the acting is very good.
Disadvantages: Some "Cheesy" bits and one actor in particular is pretty poor.

Taxi - A cheap thrill ride

Advantages: Some good car chase scenes, some fairly funny dialogue,
Disadvantages: Formulaic

I watched this the other day (you've gotta love having time off during summer :)) as it was shown on Film4 and I'd keep your eyes open if you have Freeview, as its worth catching on TV but I wouldn't say its the sort of movie that most people would really think is worth going out of their way to purchase on DVD or anything. This is a remake or American version of a hit French movie, by Luc Besson. Its an action packed comedy, starring Queen Latifah as a sort of girl boy racer called Belle, who has a souped up Taxi Cab that she finally gets her Taxi license to be able to go out and take paying customers for rides in and Jimmy Fallon, who plays a unlucky NY cop, detective Washburn. They end up meeting up when Washburn, apparently for the third time totals a police car and in doing so ruins a bodega, which costs the police department ...

Taxi Driver - Film Only

Advantages: Incredible direction, performances and writing.
Disadvantages: None.

A loose remake of John Ford's The Searchers, Martin Scorsese's Taxi Driver tells the tale of Travis Bickle (Robert De Niro in an iconic, legendary, career-defining performance), a Vietnam veteran serving as a night-shift cabbie on the streets of New York City. An unhinged, socially inept loner, Travis, having been rejected by the woman he has fallen in love - or lust - with, attempts first to assassinate the presidential candidate for whom said woman was working, and then to rescue from a life of prostitution a 13 year old girl by the name of Iris. Alongside the likes of Abel Ferrara's Driller Killer, Walter Hill's The Warriors and Scorsese's own Mean Streets, Taxi Driver helped to cement in the public imagination the image of New York as a dangerous, sin-sodden, nocturnal netherworld populated primarily by pimps, hustlers, hookers ...
