Probably not, but it is funny and when we rented it for a week it got funnier every time we watched it.
George lost as a baby when a 'plane crashed in the middle of the Bukuvu Jungle was raised by an ape. The ape was no ordinary ape as it was a well read, chess playing speaking ape. We meet him as a grown man played by Brendan Fraser. Into George’s life walks Ursula, a rich American on a Safari holiday. Unfortunately Ursula has a rich but despicable fiancé, Lyle the type of American we all like to hate! George falls in love with Ursula and goes out of his way to impress her.
All the animals in the jungle are George’s friends so he fights off a lion who later gives him a great big wink. He has a pet elephant that acts like a dog. George’s swinging from tree to tree is something to be seen. He must have an incredibly thick skull!
This is starting to sound like a children’s comedy which it basically is but it is also very funny for all the family.
After Ursula has met and fallen for George, though she didn’t know it the story takes George to America. George tries to cope on America and encounters dangers he was not aware of.
Eventually after many adventures George and Ursula get married and live happy ever after. As George says ‘George just lucky I guess.
George of the Jungle is not original but it is an excellent spoof on Tarzan and one which we all enjoyed on several occasions. There is a lot of slapstick, the cast argues with the narrator and like all good spoofs does not only take off Tarzan.

Advantages: Great for Kids and adults Disadvantages: none
Tarzan is a kids film so I didn't think I would like it that much but it is superb. The animation is typically Disney - excellent. It is smooth and fluent. The story is really entertaining and funny. Disney really do a great job of portraying the characters and give them such life and personality that you swear they are real. The musical score added by Phil Collins is wonderful and not only are they good songs but they complement the film very well ...

...always with some serious undertones. Tarzan grows up with a family of gorillas. He is trying hard to be a good gorilla, but he looks different. He turns out to be the best gorilla ever. He meets Jane, and discovers that there are other members of his species. He learns to speak english, and of course, he falls in love with Jane. His family is threathened by a mean english hunter, but Tarzan saves the day, and becomes king of the gorillas. Fun and ...

...the standard cut to adulthood, Tarzan soon learns to have fun as a boy thinking he's an ape, some of which proves highly comical yet at the same time makes him the black sheep, especially to Kerchak.
Kerchak is the ape leader who everyone looks up to, and Tarzan is no exception. His aim is to be the best ape ever, and please Kerchak. Obviously being a teenager things aren't quite so easy.

The finale and goodbyes follow, but Jane just can't leave. She loves Tarzan too and so remains quickly followed by her dad who's a bit of swinger anyway.
The whole plot and story redesign is great, both for kids and big kids alike. It's full of mirth all the way through, with voice over's by the incredibly talented Mini Driver as Jane and Tony Goldwin as Tarzan, with ...

Advantages: great animation, holds attention throughout (younger viewers) Disadvantages: soundtrack - Phil Collins could put some viewers off!
...my daughter to see Disney's Tarzan I was not really sure what to expect. The film surprised me! I was captivated from the beginning. And it also held a 3 year old's attention, although I would really recommend this film for children of school age. The animation is first class, as you would expect from Disney, and, if anything is step forward in terms of depth. The characters are brought to life, and developed well throughout the length of the film, ... ...of becoming irritating (as Jar Jar Binks suceeded in Episode One of Stars Wars). The film moves along at a fast pace, surprisingly helped by the soundtrack (I'm not a great Phil Collins fan) and the typical Disney humourous interludes such as the grabbing of the elephant's tail, do not distract from this highly entertaining film. As is common with virtually all Disney films there is the villian. In this case it is Clayton. A gun toting, square jawed, ...

Advantages: Fun Film and even more fun with the extras Disadvantages: The songs were perhaps not as memorable as they could have been
I think it's families like mine that keep Disney in business. Let me explain, we have a collection of virtually every DVD that they've ever released, from the classic animations, to live action to the straight to DVD sequels. We don't always buy them when they're first released (in fact we very rarely do), but whenever there is a special offer, we try to fill in the gaps. The current offer of buy one get one free, persuaded us to buy four more for the collection, and one of those was Tarzan 2, which is fast becoming one of my favourites, and to be honest is possibly better than the original and definitely better than Tarzan and Jane.

Advantages: None that I can think of. Disadvantages: Many - read the review.
Before I start: I'm reviewing the video (so there'll be nothing about special features, etc. - just the film)
Tarzan is one of those stories most people know (or at least know a version of it) or are at least familiar with. The story I know is the Disney version - Tarzan is raised by gorillas then meets Jane and falls in love with her. You know, it's one of those lovey dovey stories (although there is a lot of action in it - remember it's animated though, don't get your hopes up). Anyway, I spotted the sequal in Oxfam and it's a film I don't have. Since all the videos in the shop are 3 for £1.00 just now I decided just to buy it and see what it's like. I'm afraid to say I was very disappointed by it. It was a waste of money (although I'm not going to complain about 33p).
There were many things I didn't like about it. For a start it ...
Advantages: Great story, 2 great new songs, good selection of special features. Disadvantages: It's for kids.
jungle animals. The film really deserves the 5 out of 5 I've given it!
Soundtrack
The soundtrack was okay, with all of the music from Phil Collins (like in the original). However, the first song, Son of Man, was in Tarzan and there are only two new songs. I enjoy the music in disney films and was hoping for five new songs (they managed to do it in The Lion King 2 and The Little Mermaid 2). If the three songs in the film weren't as good, I'd have to give a lower rating.
DVD Special Features
This DVD contains a featurette but I never watch them so I won't be reviewing it. The other features are:
