DVD Description
Based on Roald Dahl's chilling, eerie, and imaginative short stories, this series of stand-alone episodes fascinated children and adults alike during its run on British television. This second volume includes 16 more twist-driven stories, featuring guest stars such as Joseph Cotton, Joan Collins, John Gielgud, and Michael Gambon.
Advantages: Episodes right length and not too long, interesting stories Disadvantages: Some episodes can be disappointing compared to others
...Tales of the Unexpected are a series of stories that have been adapted to be show on television. The stories are very different to each other but the one thing that they have in common is that they all tend to have an unexpected twist. Most of the time, these are very hard to guess.
Tales of the Unexpected ran from 1979 to 1988. There were 9 series. The one that I am reviewing is the complete first series.
I have just started to collect these as they are now at a very reasonable price and when I came across them I remembered how much I used to like watching them years ago. I wasn't born when the first series was released but can remember my mum watching these in later years and that is how I started to get into them. I enjoy short stories with a twist (as you will also see from my Alfred Hitchcock Presents review) and have been...

Advantages: episode 4- The Strange Tale of the Crack Fox Disadvantages: every other episode
...Series 1 and 2 of the Mighty Boosh were amazing- nearly every episode was original, hilarious and generally brilliant. So when i heard that there was going to be a 3rd series i was very eager to watch it on BBC and every episode for me was highly anticipated.
But when each weeks episode came around i found that they were no longer original or funny at all. Alot of the episodes used material seen in previous ones and this, as you can imagine, isnt funny. Its unfair to say it was all bad but there were only a few lines in each episode that made me chuckle which was the complete opposite for Series 1 and 2.
The episodes in series 3-
1- Eels
2- Journey to the Centre of the Punk
3- Power of the Crimp
4- The Strange Tale of the Crack Fox
5- Party
6- Sammy the Crab
DVD extras- Cast Commentary, Deleted Scenes, Outtakes
These are all fairly...

24 Series 5 Review of24 - Series 5 - CompleteDVDby

Advantages: Jack Bauer, tremendous acting, twists and turns Disadvantages: formula starting to wear thin?
...How can you top series 4 of 24? By killing off well known cast members! That's how.
As usual this series has so many twists and turns. Whilst the formula is starting to look a little tired now that it has reached 5 series; it is still a cut above most of the rest of what television currently has to offer. In Jack Bauer they have an American James Bond type figure who will do whatever is necessary to get the job done. To counter this there is the American President who brings to mind images of Nixon.
Things are never quite what they seem in 24 and this season in no different. The ending was very satisfying and unexpected. I can't wait for the next season...
