~~ TaiChi for Diabetes ~~
This DVD is the brain child of Dr Paul Lam who is a family physician in Sydney, Australia, he designed this DVD with a team of medical experts and his TaiChi associates. It is based on Sun and Yang style TaiChi, which is easy to learn, and designed to prevent and improve the control of diabetes.
I know for the sceptics out there this may sound a bit far fetched, and ok so I am new to this and have only been trying it out for a short while, but from what I have read and from my own experience with taichi and mediation I have to agree, it works.

Advantages: Easy to learn and understand. Disadvantages: None...
...I found this dvd to be very informative and with over 7 hours of material on two dvds contains a lot of information regarding TaiChi. The dvds are also filmed live so the infomation is easily undertood with no voice overs.
Both Yang and Chen style TaiChi are covered with a dvd specifically for each style and there is also a basic Qi Gong style covered.

There is then a section for all of the applications for the TaiChi style which shows Master Wong demonstrating the techniques on a student wearing full body so that the techniques can be performed with proper force.
The dvd then has a section that shows the full form presented at full speed and the form is...

Advantages: easy, safe and anyone can do it Disadvantages: finding a suitable class / time can be hard
...TaiChi is a martial art that is now done more often for health benefits than for fighting.
I have severe arthritis, and had had to give up most physical activities, and was using a wheelchair to go out. I was asked to review a taichi video, aimed specifically at people with arthritis, and I have never looked back.
My mobility and balance have improved, the wheelchair is getting dusty and my blood pressure is down. In fact, I now teach this particular Sun form to others, so have had a financial benefit as well.
I did go to a course of chen man ching taichi, but found the 1 1/2 hours too much for my health, the tutor was great at letting me sit out great chenks of the repetitions, and that started my improvements. After a couple of terms, I could manage most of the session. I would still be going if the time/day had not...
