Before reading:
1. Contains several plot spoilers. But you can probably guess what happens at the end anyway.
2. Assumes a basic knowledge of the Big Brother TV show and format.
3. Parts of Dead Set are pretty gruesome, so if you?re of a nervous disposition you may not even want to read the rest of this review, never mind follow any of the links at the end.
Not Ideal Boyfriend Material
How?s this for a nightmare scenario? You?re a lowly female member of the production team on Big Brother. No no, that?s not it. There?s more. Not long ago you were engaged in a passionate clinch with Danny, your new almost-boyfriend, for whom you?re in the process of trading in your long-standing but boring current model. Advantages: some good plots, a little humour. Disadvantages: sometimes boring.
Although everyone who thinks of Taggart will automatically think of Mark McManus as Jim Taggart, The show is still reasonably good.
I do feel that the dry humour that Mark brought to the show has been lost, and that Blythe Duff and Colin Mcredie don't have the same humour.
Somewhere along the line the show has become a little boring and not as enjoyable as it was.
The plots and murders don't seem the same.
Colin McCredie does not have the flair that Mark McManus had and it lacks some character.
I still like watching it however and enjoy it to a good extent.
There are still the moments of humour between Duff and McCredie, but it will never be the same for me.

Advantages: Hilarious comedy, good viewing Disadvantages: only 3 episodes, expensive to buy whole set individually
Another installement to my DVD collection - the epic and classic comedy hero - Mr Bean. I love Rowan Atkinson, especially in Black Adder and also in the classic Mr Bean episodes. Despite my mood before hand, after watching Mr Bean I always feel much better, he always manages to intrigue my imagination with his biazarre mannerisms and abilty to turn the most straight forward of tasks into complete disaters!
Having not being able to buy the whollebox set I have had to purchase and review each DVD volume one by one.
This DVD contains 3 episodes, each with 3 or 4 sketches in them. All of whihc are brilliant and this DVD includes one of my favourites - the one where he goes to the swimming pool and clings to the diving board. The three episodes are entitled: Episode 1. 'The Curse Of Mr Bean', Episode 2. 'Mr Bean Goes To Town ...

DVD Description
At 20 years and counting, Taggart is the longest-running police drama on British television. Set in Glasgow and featuring a trio of accomplished police investigators, Taggart's gritty realism and explosive storylines have established the series as a national institution. Originally aired as episode 33 from the 1997-1998 season, this volume features "Dead Reckoning," an investigation into several murders at an apparently respectable escort agency.
