Black Adder the First

Advantages: Very Funny
Disadvantages: Nothing

there where quite a few unforgettable characters, Series 1: 1. The Foretelling 2. Born to be King. 3. The Archbishop 4. The Queen of Spain's Beard 5. Witchsmeller Persuivant 6. The Black Seal The combined writing skills of Curtis, Ben Elton and Rowan Atkinson is simply sensational. The comedy and witty lines come thick and fast. The DVD is worth the money, although it has little extras, Subtitles, chapter selection and some small back ground filling to the series. Recommended. ...

The Black Adder Series 1 review

Advantages: Original, funny in places
Disadvantages: Not as funny as newer seasons, characters rough around the edges

The Black Adder Series 1 is the first season of Blackadder, the name given to the four series focusing on the Blackadder family throughout the centuries. The year is 1485, near the end of the middle ages, and deals with such problems they had back then as witchcraft, the crusades and the numerous arguments between the church and the monarchy. This is probably the series with the most scope, there are sequences outside and the sets are bigger and more populated than later series. It was quite an ambitious series, trying to pull off a historical sitcom like this, there is a big worry that it won ...

Disadvantages: not sharper image, no extras

leg from the morge where he brought it home from one of his classes to write an essay on it. He decides to strap it to the front of his car instead in the 1st episode! The DVD is a simple set up and plays striaght on to the episodes, you can select play all, or view one by one. It contains the whole of series one of the young ones. The episodes are as follows; 1. Demolition. This is the first one ever and we see an intro duction to all the characters, including the landlord who has various other roles throughout the series.
