super-identical twins who are actually total opposites. OK, it's not the freshest concept in the universe, but the teen divas (who also exec produce--as they did in theirPassport to Paris) are an undeniable favourite with little girls. Here, they're Sam, the athletic one, and Emma, the fashion-conscious one. Their indulgent dad (Eric Lutes) coaches a soccer team and their workaholic mother (Kathryn Greenwood) is a psychologist. Look for a switch, the truth to be revealed, and all to end well. This TV movie should appeal to girls between 4 and 10, especially if any of them are handy on the soccer pitch.--N.F. I'm sure many of you have heard of the names Mary-Kate and Ashley , but wondered who they actually are. Well , Mary-Kate and Ashley Fuller Olsen are fraternal twins , born on June 13th 1986 in Sherman Oaks , Los Angeles. Ashley is two minutes older than Mary-Kate. They have an older brother called Trent and a younger sister called Lizzie as well as half brothers and sisters.
* Mary-Kate and Ashley Facts * Mary-Kate is left handed and Ashley is right handed. Ashley likes to dance whereas Mary-Kate prefers horse riding. The twins had their first on-screen kisses at the age of thirteen on their film Passport to Paris. Ashley is more quieter than Mary-kate. Ashley likes Christmas whereas Mary-Kate prefers Halloween.
Mary-Kate and Ashley are famous actresses as well as business women and fashion designers. They have acted since the age of nine months old when they shared the role of Michelle Tanner in the American Television show full house. Since then they have appeared in their own television series such as Two Of A Kind and So Little Time as well as their own movies such as Passport To Paris and Our Lips Are Sealed. They also have their own company called Dualstar. They have make up products , Hair products , dolls , clothes , books , DVDs and fragrances. Since around the age of eighteen the girls have been quite quiet on the movie front , and are now considered two separate people rather than one half of twins. Mary-Kate was reportedly dating the actor Heath Ledger around the time of his death. Mary-Kate has suffered from Anorexia Nervosia as well as drug problems. Mary-kate is currently starring without her twin in the film The Wackness.
Switching Goals is a television movie starring Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. The film was released in 1999. Switching Goals was directed by David Steinberg. The film comes under the comedy , family and sport genres. Running time of the movie is eighty five minutes.
I received this VHS one Christmas a few years ago. The cover consists of a goal and a sky blue background. Switching Goals is in a blue font at the top of the cover ; a football replaces the 'O' in 'Goals'. Ashley is on the left in a blue football shirt and Sam is on the right in a green football shirt.
Emma (Ashley) and Sam Santon are twin sisters. Sam is very sporty and Emma is into fashion. Their father Joe is one of the leauge's coaches. Usually Sam plays on her dad's team and Emma sits on the side and watches. But this time , their mum insists on both of them playing for their dad's team and tells Joe to pick Emma first , although it's Sam Joe wants on his team. What will happen when the girls secretly switch places to keep everyone happy ? Watch Switching Goals to find out.
This film has a very simple storyline yet it is very effective and entertaining. Although the story is predictable in some places , I really enjoyed watching it. I have had this film on VHS since I was eleven years old , yet I still enjoy watching it , although I think it is mainly aimed at children and young teens. It is quite comical in various places , although Kids would probably find it really funny as the humour is aimed at children.
I found the acting to be quite good especially as the twins are quite young in this movie. My favourite character was the mother because she was quite funny. I felt sorry for Emma as it seemed she felt she wasn't as good as her twin and that their father liked Sam more than her.
This movie was my introduction to Mary-Kate and Ashley as I had never heard of them before. I enjoyed this film so much I went out and bought their other films , Passport to Paris , Our Lips Are Sealed , Billboard Dad…
I found the girls very hard to tell apart in the movie and had to keep remembering who was who and who was now who…it could get quite confusing! Emma is the more girlie one and dresses in pink whereas Sam is the more sporty one , although when they're both playing soccer it gets hard to see the difference.
I would recommend this film for all Mary-Kate and Ashley!
Plot: They came, they saw, they traded places! Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen have everyone in their soccer league dizzy with confusion when they switch identities and play on each other's team! A fun-filled comedy for the whole family.
