Supernatural is a new series made by the American WB Network - makers of Smallville and Charmed.
It's the story of the Winchester family and stars Jensen Ackles as older brother Dean Winchester, and Jared Padalecki as the younger brother Sam Winchester.
John Winchester has an obsession to find the evil forces that murdered his beloved wife when the brother were young. He recruits the brothers as hunters to assist him.
Sam Winchester chose to escape this way of life, leaving home to attend college. He has settled with his girlfriend,
Dean Winchester stayed behind with his father to join him in his "hunting".
The pilot episode commences with Dean arriving to ask for Sam's help when John goes on a hunting trip and fails to return.
Sam desperate to cling onto his new life fights his obligation to help his brother, but agrees to join him for one weekend.
The search for John Winchester becomes an on-going quest, and a tragedy means that Sam's life will never be the same.
The two brothers with their tragic pasts, travel across the US in the search for their father, encountering encountering terrifying and dangerous forces that many believe to be urban legends and folklore.
A truly amazing series, with two of the best young actors of recent times, makes this an emotional journey for the viewer as well.
I was hooked on this series from the pilot episode and the storyline has got stronger and stronger as the season has progressed. Culminating in a truly spectacular season finale that will have you on the edge of your seat.
Season 2 has just been announced by the new channel The CW, so I personally can't wait to see where the story will go next!
This Part 1 boxset is retailing at anywhere from £17.99 up to £23.99, with Part 2 scheduled for release in August 2006. I was rather disappointed to discover that there were no extra features on the DVD. No behind the scenes or commentaries, which is a real shame as I think they would have a good incentive.
I think that the complete Season 1 boxset will offer better value for money, so may well choose to invest in that instead.
As the tagline goes "Scary Just Got Sexy" and oh, yes it did!

Hey! I am really enjoying this series, but I think I will wait till the whole series comes out on a boxset, otherwise it gets expensive! Keep watching though, co we are nearing the end of the series ooooo! : )

This is a pretty good series. You might want to include the price of the DVD's and where you got it from.... :)
