I really cant believe that there are so many good reviews for this film! I bought this film off box office on Friday night and I was sorely dissapointed. Now dont get me wrong I love comedy's especially the silly kind - I loved zoo lander and i think Wedding Crashers is the best one out there at the moment.
***Synopsis***
Seth and Evan are two highschool kids - they like to drink and Seth in particular wants to get laid. He previously had a really hot girlfriend and is worried that he 'reached his peak' far too early. Seth and Evan have been best friends since elementary school, but there friendship has been tested because Evan got accepted into a really good college and Seth didnt. So the story starts 3 weeks away from Graduation with plenty of parties of happening and neither invited to any of them. They happen to get invited to one last minute and with Seth's revalation that he has a fake ID - they are asked to get the drink for the party.
The truth infact is that there nerdy friend Fogall has got the ID which looks a bit rubbish and isnt helped by the fact that he changed his name on the ID to McLovin. So away they go to the off licence to get the drink for the party. The off licence gets robbed and this is where the 'comedy' starts.
I will say that the story line is fairly original with some very unique jokes, however this film was so drawn out and they really dragged every joke out until it just wasnt funny anymore.
And in my humble opinion I didnt think the two main character mixed well together - with Evans parts in the film strangely looking very low budget.
This film was filmed in California, USA by Columbia Pictures. The unrated version is 118 minutes long / rated version 114 mins long.
** Conclusion**
I was well and truly bored halfway through this film and i am so shocked at the good reviews about it. A lot of people have been comparing this to American pie which I think is so way off. This hasnt a patch on American pie as American pie is a classic.
If you are going to watch this film - dont waste your money renting it or buying it - wait until its on the tv!!!!!
