and the Aquaphibians, grotesque undersea warriors, in the quest for world peace. WASP's most powerful asset is the sleek and deadly underwater craft STINGRAY, captained by Intrepid Troy Tempest. Helping him are Phones, the brave radio expert, Commander Sam Shore, his daughter Atlanta and Marina the voiceless, tailless Mermaid.
Stingray!" Who can resist? Especially when a dramatic voice announces, "Anything can happen in the next half hour!".Stingray(1964) was the show Gerry Anderson made just before he really hit the big time withThunderbirds(1965), producing 39 episodes of the 21st-century adventures of Troy Tempest--tall, dark and handsome (his voice was based on James Garner) captain of the titular submarine. His mission: to protect the seas on behalf of WASP (World Aquanaut Security Patrol). With complex underwater model and puppet effects, this was ground-breaking television, especially as it was the first UK series to be made in colour, though for years it was only seen in black and white. Special effects director Derek Meddings later graduated to the James Bond movies, while Moneypenny herself (actress Lois Maxwell) voiced Atlanta Shore. Here, just as in the Bond movies, she played second fiddle in our hero's affections, the mute Marina becoming Stingray's sex-goddess. The end-credits even featured a song in her honour, "Aqua Maria", which became an international hit. As for the bad guys: half-man, half-fish Titan and his Terror Fish wage dastardly war against humanity and the peaceful underwater citizens of Pacifica. Four decades on themodel and underwater sequences still impress, and surely much of the inspiration for the underwater city inThe Phantom Menacecame from locations inStingray. Whether as bizarre 60s nostalgia, or winning a new generation of fans,Stingrayremains eccentric cult family entertainment. --Gary S Dalkin

...friends.
Lisa Kudrow-
Plays Phoebe Buffey. Sings loads of crazy songs which match her personality. Completely hopeless but very funny.
Matt Le Blanc-
Plays Joey Tribianni. Obsessed about becoming an actor, who is just as dizzy as Phoebe, and never really getting anywhere in the acting world.
Mathew Perry-
Plays Chandler Bing. Who's only defence is his humour, very laid back, with many people in the series thinking he is gay.
David Swhwimmer-
Plays Ross Geller. A nerdy palaeontologist whose wife left him for A lesbian. Sister too Monica, on and off all the time with Rachel.

Advantages: excellent drama very well acted Disadvantages: very few extras
...This is one of the best dramas of the 1980s. The boxset has all 3 series and the bonus 'reunion' episode. The series concentrates on the women's POW camp. The three series are based on real life experiences. Despite this being an excellent drama it is not the type of thing you can say 'I enjoyed watching that' Despite it having a 12 certificate I personally wouldn't recommend it as suitable for anyone under 15.
During the three series we see the women suffer at the hands of the Japanese guards. Food rations being cut, low medical supplies and death could only be around the corner for one or even all of the women.
The cast are fantastic. Stephanie Cole (better known as Diana Trent in Waiting for God) as Doctor Beatrice and Burt Kwouk as the sinister Captain Yamauchi to name but two.
The cast changed slightly each series but I...

--------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------
The First Series 1 to 7 BoxSet is stuffed with over 50 different episodes listed below. The great thing about this BoxSet is that there is no particular order you must follow.
There is a vast range of story lines for you to follow which do not overlap with episodes. You could start in reverse order and I guarantee unlike other programmes,
you will fully understand from scene to scene without having a specific order to follow.
This will allow you and others to view episodes individually at your own choice and leisure.
Here you have an almost complete package of Classic British Comedy for both teenagers and adults.
The only thing missing is that it does not feature each & every episode ever made for BBC Television.
But the BoxSet is a great introduction to those who have unfortunately not as of yet discovered 'Only Fools & Horses' as...
