...This is one of the best dramas of the 1980s. The box set has all 3 series and the bonus 'reunion' episode. The series concentrates on the women's POW camp. The three series are based on real life experiences. Despite this being an excellent drama it is not the type of thing you can say 'I enjoyed watching that' Despite it having a 12 certificate I personally wouldn't recommend it as suitable for anyone under 15. During the three series we see the women suffer at the hands of the Japanese guards. Food rations being cut, low medical supplies and death could only be around the corner for one or even all of the women. The cast are fantastic. The great thing about this Box Set is that there is no particular order you must follow. There is a vast range of story lines for you to follow which do not overlap with episodes. You could start in reverse order and I guarantee unlike other programmes, you will fully understand from scene to scene without having a specific order to follow. This will allow you and others to view episodes individually at your own choice and leisure. Here you have an almost complete package of Classic British Comedy for both teenagers and adults. The only thing missing is that it does not feature each & every episode ever made for BBC Television.
