Jack's wife Jean died a number of years ago, and his daughter Fiona moved out to Canada with her family, leaving Jack alone in Craiglang.
Victor McDade, (played by Greg Hemphill), who is also a widower and best friend of Jack for the passed 60 years… he enjoys nothing more than a few jars down his local pub with his friends
Winston Ingram (played by Paul Riley), is a money making schemer, so he thinks, who'll do almost anything for a few extra pounds, only to waste what he earns down at the Bookies or the pub.
Tam Mullen (played by Mark Cox), is a bit tight when it comes to money and is always getting others to pay for him… only changing his ways for the woman of his life until he became a father in his seventies and his money making ideas go into overdrive.
Isa Drennan, (played by Jane McCarry) is the mouth of Craigland, gossiping everyones news around the estate whilst working as a cleaner at Navids store.
Navid Harrid (played by Sanjeev Kohli), is a dry witted grump who runs the shop on the estate with his hen pecking wife Meena.
Boaby, (played by Gavin Mitchell), is the Barman at the Clansman, (or Jenny's) whose customer skills are lacking slightly, bitching at all the locals in the bar..
** Brief idea **
This is the final series in the life of the rogue, but extremely likable pensioners from Craiglang in Glasgow.
Jack and Victor stumble their way through life, still trying to survive on their pension, bickering about anything, trying to find someone who will listen… basically being old men living in a rough new world. There lives have not changed, especially since their wives passed away, the are set in their ways… a simple routine of drinking down the pub with their friends, Winston, Tam and the gang, home for a bite to eat and then back to meet their friends once more… occasionally a trip to Navids shop to catch up on the gossip from the Craiglang daily news woman Isa, who knows every ones business.
** IN CONCLUSION **
A brilliant laugh a minute series following the simple lives of two struggling pensioners living in a small Glaswegian town… getting involved in so many situations you'd think they were cursed… Their friends in the estate mingling into the series to open up many different stories which will have you giggling through every episode, ( maybe feeling a little guilty for laughing at the misfortune of the elderly)…
The all round acting from all the cast is tremendous, each character being portrayed to perfection, especially the lovable Isa, with her busy body attitude and love of helping other…
Once you've have cracked the Glaswegian accent this DVD will have you crying with laughter throughout… pure genius again…
If you want a copy of this series then you can get it from www.amazon.co.uk for less than £7.00 or even get the box set of the entire seven plus the specials series for less than £40.00...
This show is with out doubt the best thing coming from the BBC since Fawlty Towers in the 70s. Although this disc doesn't have any extras it does nothing to spoil the enjoyment and value of it.
In one word… fantastic…
Boring bit about the shows…

...full back catalogue on DVD.
Still Game focuses on the stories of the elderly residents of Craiglang, a down at heel district of Glasgow. But don't be fooled into thinking this is another twee sitcom in the style of 'As Time Goes By' or 'Last of the Summer Wine'. The language is ripe and the subject matter more than a little close to the bone. It's also very, very funny.
Series 6 sees a little more slapstick than earlier seasons and at 7 episodes ...
