DVD Description

Includes three films based on the works of Steven King: MISERY, THE DARK HALF, and CARRIE. In MISERY, author Paul Sheldon suffers a car accident in a blizzard. He thanks his lucky stars that nurse Annie Wilkes is on hand to help him...that is until he discovers that she's his number one fan and has no intention of ever letting him go. In THE DARK HALF, a horror-story author becomes a victim of his own making when he tries to kill off one of his most famous characters. In CARRIE, high school girls plot to avenge themselves on ostracised fellow student and budding telekinetic Carrie White after they get in trouble for pelting her with tampons. When they get popular boy Tommy Ross to be her date for the prom, the stage is set for some heart-rending cruelty and fiery retribution.

The Hammer Collection Box Set
Review of The Hammer Collection (Box Set) (DVD) by  spacavoy

Advantages: An aesthetically pleasing collection
Disadvantages: Some rather poor inclusions

...A selection of classic Hammer films from the very good to...not so good. An aesthetically pleasing set for fans of the studio, or those wanting at least half of the titles. Features star favourites Peter Cushing, Raquel Welch, Ursula Andress and Christopher Lee (about whom there is an interesting documentary with 'Scars of Dracula'). The extra features vary greatly, the biggest ommission, in my opinion, is the total absence of subtitles for the hearing impaired. For those who are interested all films are anamorphic, some for the first time, and completely uncut. My personal favourite was the inclusion of the 1965 film 'The Nanny' which stars a very chilling Bette Davis in a well scripted, and often overlooked role. Probably a tad overpriced for most, but new DVD versions of individual films are also available, so take... Read review

Childe Roland to the Dark Tower Came
Review of The Dark Tower Collection - Stephen King by  dididave

Advantages: A synopsis of the greatest series of books I have ever read!
Disadvantages: The longest review of all time.

...Hello there my ciao friends. I am going to warn you now this review is going to be long. To do an overview of such an epic set of books any justice it must be. These books are the pride and joy of my collection so I feel an urge to share my ramblings with you. So, Stephen King eh. "I won't read anything by him because he only writes dodgy horror novels." A common misconception is that King is a horror writer. However, those who know anything about him know the man is capable of writing in a variety of fields. Although, predominantly known for books such as "The Shining" and "Carrie" due to the hugely successful films, an increasing number have been following his Dark Tower series myself included. The Dark Tower series consists of seven books all of varying lengths and scope. King got the idea to write this series of novels... Read review

The Will Hay Collection
Review of Will Hay Collection (Box Set) (DVD) by  Maximus-Qualitus

Advantages: Very Funny
Disadvantages: Not very PC at times.

...The Will Hay box set Collection. = Included are nine DVDs showing will at his best and to be honest in 2 films not really his best. Anyhow, what follows is a nine disc synopsis and my views on each movie. The box contains a huge unfolding DVD holder into which all 9 DVDs are held. Enjoy Greg. 1. Ask a Policeman 2. Boys Will Be Boys 3. Oh, Mr Porter 4. Convict 99 5. Old Bones of the River 6. Where There's a Will 7. Good Morning Boys 8. Hey! Hey! USA! 9. Windbag the Sailor **************************************************** 1. Ask a Policeman. = This film stars will Hay, Moore Marriott and graham Moffatt. All 3 together making this a cracking film.
