StargateS.G.1 based on the Stargate movie.
This series is one of the best science fiction series ever. The series follows S.G. 1 on their missions to other planets through the Stargate. The S.G. 1 team are made up of Jack O'Neill (2 L's), Samantha Carter, Daniel Jackson and eventually Teal'c. Colonel Jack O'Neill is very anti establishment and has a lot of funny one liners and always seems to be the one getting shot, blown up, zapped, transported or whatever. Richard Dean Anderson plays him. Captain Carter is the science geek, if it is broke or needs fixing she can fix it. She uses words like exponentially a lot. Amanda Tapping plays her. Daniel Jackson is an archaeologist who originally told the world that the pyramids were landing pads for alien ships. Micheal Shanks plays him. Teal'c is a Jaffa and he starts off as ...

is Teal'c. He's an alien. This series is endorsed by the Air Force.
This disk is really a good one because it contains one of my favorite shows from the season, which is saying something considering how many episodes I really like in this season.
This is a good disk with 4 good shows. I'd like to say it's the best of this set, but I can't because this set has a lot of really good shows on it.
Episode 1: Into the Fire
"Previously, on Stargate SG-1?" Hathor has managed to capture Jack, Sam and Daniel (but not Teal,'c though she might have rejected him because she couldn't mess with his mind as easily.) She almost had them convinced that everyone else on the team was dead and that s/he held vital information from the last mission, but our heroes aren't so stupid. Oh, and Daniel has a stupid new haircut. On of the other teams ...
Advantages: Gripping, addictive, plenty too watch, perfect in most ways Disadvantages: expensive and may take up most of your days for the next while
character.
The First Commandment ? We get a small insight into the life of Carter here. It starts with two SG men running for their lives and though one is killed the other survives. When SG1 is sent to investigate SG9?s disappearance they discover that SG9?s leader arrived on the planet and was treated like a God, of course for the sake of the plot he allows this treatment and it soon gets to his head.
The Enemy Within ? Another touching episode here as we see a Goa?uld infiltrate the SGC (Stargate Command) and O?Neill?sbest friend subsequently loses his life.
Emancipation ? Another Carter episode now where we watch how SG1 goes to a new planet where women are second class citizens and are sold as slaves to be married and mis-treated. This reflects Amanda Tapping belief about Feminism as she fights for their rights and ends up going ...

DVD Description
On a special mission to distant Planet Abydos, retired army hero Colonel Jack O'Neill (Richard Dean Anderson) is reunited with a scientist (Michael Shanks) who has made a controversial and dangerous discovery--a map of the galaxy's various "stargates," or portals through which space and time travel is possible. The pilot of this sci-fi television series is based on the 1994 Roland Emmerich film.
