When i got my copy of these 'films' i thought that that there was only one edition out, the silver/black edition. if that is so, then Mr. Lucas has certainly spun a fast one on us all, the spines on ep.1 and ep.2 are gold while the remainder are silver, and lets face it in an ideal world, we would prefer it if they all matched and not three gold and three silver.
The box too is a bit of a let down, Mr Lucas could of easily forseen (no pun intended) to maked the box larger so all 6 movies plus bonus disc could fit in when the final film is released, or is this going to be another money spinner from Mr. Lucas again to weed more money from us.
There is nothing wrong with the films except.... (oh dear) they are soo clear and crisp, you can see virtually every single matt line around space ships. even at one point i saw the wire holding a wobbling robot up in ep.4 behind luke and boi-wan.
these films have to be messed around with again to get them up to scratch with the general populous. Its no good having bad production if you think only the hardent fans are going to buy them, none fans would want something to look forward to also, not laugh at the production of the movies and laugh at the wires and mattes.
I have been a fan for years, but after buying this boxset for near enough £30 on the first week and watching them to the finale, another George Lucas mistake, i am feeling a bit robbed at the picture production, they have been in hiding for god knows how long and nothing has been done to tidy the wires, blend the mattes, dot the I's or cross the 'T's. They do look a bit rushed out for the next boxset from Mr. Lucas and Co where obviously all six movies will be available with twenty extras discs and possble remakes of the original movies.
Sorry for putting anyone down, but thats just the way I feel about them...
If you aint got them but want them, check the bargain bin first as no one has even sold out yet
