Attack of the Clones is the second film in the prequel trilogy of Star Wars films written and directed by George Lucas. The film was released in 2002.
This film follows on from The Phantom Menace, 10 years later. There threat of civil war looms over the galaxy. Count Dooku (Christopher Lee) a renegade Jedi, leads a group who want to break away from the Republic. Obi-Wan Kenobi (Ewan McGregor) and his apprentice Anakin Skywalker (Hayden Christensen) are assigned to protect and investigate after Senator Padme Amidala (Natalie Portman) survives an assassination attempt.
The galaxy is on the brink of change and a Clone War imminent, as Obi-Wan and Anakin learn more about the hidden threat that threatens to destroy the Republic. The shadowy figure of Darth Sidious is looming in the background and his ultimate plan is not yet clear.
Anakin is torn between allegiance to the Jedi council, including Yoda and Mace Windu (Samuel L Jackson) and his feeling for Padme. This conflict will end up having serious consequences for everyone.
This is an improvement of The Phantom Menace and teases fans of what to expect in the third film in the trilogy. This film is worth watching for all fans.
