The Borg are one of the most spinechilling creations in the Star Trek univers somehow the romulans then the ferengi and Klingons did not have the same - edge of seat effect. This has made them one star trek franchises most powerful publicity and ratings winners, no more does the prime directive apply instead its lock and load and lets unleash some of those phasers, and torpeedoes and blow them all to hell as soon as they enter scanner range. If only it were so simple. Tthis box set has all the major enclounters, all the major plot moments. standouts including TNG episodes "best of both worlds" and "Q,who?" which show the early borg.
This collects the 10 most popular Borg stories (including 4 2-part episodes) from the Star Trek universe chosen by the fans and presented order as the borg sweep accross the galaxy. The episode "Regeneration" of the prequel series Star Trek: Enterprise leads off the set as the "earliest" contact with the Borg even though it is the most recent to be filmed. The Next Generation episodes "Q Who" and the 2-part showdown "The Best of Both Worlds" (where picard is captured by the Borg) to the Star Trek: Voyager 2-parter "Scorpion" (which introduced Seven of Nine, the ship's resident Borg) to the Voyager series finale "Endgame" (with Alice Krige from the film Star Trek: First Contact).
What is missing from this boxed set is anything special - there is no special artwork or explanation any concept sketches and pictures which are always present on other sci fiction DVDs. There are no interviews with cast and crew which is a huge let down it is as if no one was really trying.
We are treated to a tedious commentary on the Enterprise episode, and the odd text commentary on other selected episodes. A huge let down.
At the end of the day this includes all the key episodes you could hope to see but it could have been so much more. Overall though its worth buying if you dont own the other trek season box sets and even if you are not a star trek fan the borg episodes because of the added drama and violence are by far the most watchable for non trek fans.
14 Episodes Comprise:
1. Regeneration 2. Q Who? 3. The Best Of Both Worlds (Parts 1 & 2) 4. I, Borg 5. Descent (Parts 1 & 2) 6. Scorpion (Parts 1 & 2) 7. Drone 8. Dark Frontier 9. Unimatrix Zero (Parts 1 & 2) 10. Endgame
As I have said the features for what they are worth:- Audio commentary by Mike Sussman and Phyllis Strong on 'Regeneration' Text commentary by Michael and Denise Okuda on 'The Best Of Both Worlds Parts 1 and 2' Text commentary by Michael and Denise Okuda on 'Unimatrix Zero Part 2'

DVD Description
Of all the alien lifeforms encountered by intrepid STAR TREK crew members throughout the series' many spinoff shows, none have been more memorable than the virtually unstoppable shapeshifters known as the Borg. Introduced in the first spinoff series, STAR TREK: THE NEXT GENERATION, the Borg is a race of cyborgs with the terrifying abilities to both assimilate other lifeforms and withstand the most devastating blows (for which their most famous threat, "resistance is futile," has become a popular catchphrase). Culled from STAR TREK: ENTERPRISE, STAR TREK: THE NEXT GENERATION, and STAR TREK: VOYAGER, this collection presents 14 of the best Borg-related episodes as voted by actual Trekkies, including "The Best of Both Worlds," in which Captain Picard (Patrick Stewart) is assimilated by a Borg, and "Drone," which introduces Borg Seven of Nine (Jeri Ryan) as an Enterprise crew member.
