played with indignant mischief by John De Lancie. While previous Fan Collectives have taken votes to select which episodes around a certain theme would be included, Q makes things easy (the character never made things easy) by simply including all 12 episodes (two are double-length) in which he appeared. And because Q was especially fond of tormenting Captain Picard (Patrick Stewart) and his crew, most of the episodes are from The Next Generation, including that series' first episode, "Encounter at Farpoint". Subsequent episodes are "Hide and Q" in which the crew plays a deadly game; "Q Who," in which a temper tantrum throws the Enterprise into its first-ever encounter with the Borg (also included on the Fan Collective: Borg set); "Deja Q," in which the character becomes a normal human; "Qpid," in which Q tries to play matchmaker by turning Picard into Robin Hood; "True Q" in which Q reveals the truth about a mysterious young woman; "Tapestry," in which Picard shares a near-death experience with the godlike thorn in his side; and the series finale, "All Good ThingsÂ?" Q also made brief stops in the first season of Deep Space Nine ("Q Less") and in Voyager. In "Death Wish," Q tries to help Captain Janeway (Kate Mulgrew) recover her male crew members after an encounter with another member of the Q Continuum, "The Q and the Grey," in which Q wants Janeway to bear his child; and the final season's "Q2," in which Q's son arrives to cause chaos, such as removing Seven of Nine's (Jeri Ryan) clothes. As with previous Fan Collective sets, the only new features (and in this case there are no other features) are text commentary on three episodes by Michael Okuda and Denise Okuda. --David Horiuchi

DVD Description
Of all the alien lifeforms encountered by STAR TREK crew members throughout the series' many spinoff shows, none remains more beloved than the playful trickster god known as Q (John De Lancie). Introduced in the first spinoff series, THE NEXT GENERATION, Q quickly earned his way into the pantheon of STAR TREK characters with his endlessly entertaining torment of the 'inferior' human spacefarers, especially his most worthy opponent, Captain Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart). Culled from THE NEXT GENERATION, DEEP SPACE NINE, and VOYAGER, this collection presents all 12 episodes on which Q appeared, including the fan-favorites 'Tapestry', 'All Good Things...', and 'Q2'.

Advantages: action in space Disadvantages: could degrade your level on the socio-economic scale
...Finally, the breakthough `trekkies` had been waiting for. A startrek film with on the edge, consistent action. The problem with all the previous film`s and many of the episodes in all startrek`s was that it beacme dull. There was never enough fighting, by that i don`t mean bruce lee rubbish, but some geniune space wars! This film has the ultimate enemy, the borg. A collective of drones who only want to assimilate people, it`s in their culture. The crew go back in time to save earth from being turned into a bunch of conservatives. The queen borg is revealed for the first time who almost turns the film to an erotic thriller with an intimate scene with the `stud` data. This film has suspense, action and a bit of humour. It`s without doubt the best trek film, with the cast of the next generation, this film was what the fans wanted...

Best of Trek Review ofStarTrek - First Contact DVDby
markos3
...StarTrek: first Contact is the best of all of the StarTrek movies. The story concerns a Borg attack on Earth that is thwarted, with the attacking Borg cube being destroyed apart from an escape sphere.
The sphere goes back in time reasoning that if they cannot defeat Star Fleet in the present, they will go back and prevent humans from colonising space thus achieving victory for the Borg.
This movie has lots of good points, the story is excellent, the action is superb, and there are some memorable comic moments. Patrick Stewart is as usual brilliant as Captain Picard.
I would recommend this film to any science fiction fan, trekkie or not....
