I was thrilled to get this box set from my young lady for my birthday. I have always beena trekkie and started watching Star Trek during the Picard Next Generation Era so To find this in my presents was a pleasant surprise.
The box set is 2 discs containing a total of 7 The Next Generation episodes selected specially from the 7 series of the hit TV show.
DISC ONE
1) Allegiance
Unbeknownst to the crew, Picard is kidnapped and replaced with an exact replica.
While in his quarters, Picard is taken from the ship by an alien energy beam and held in a room with three other hostages: Tholl, a peace-loving Mizarian; Haro, an Algolian and Starfleet Academy cadet; and Esoqq, a beast-like member of the Chalnoth race. Its a race against time for Picard to get back to the ship before the imposter does any damage to the ship and her crew.
2) Captain's Holiday
While on a much-needed holiday, Picard becomes entangled in the search for a weapon stolen from the future.
3) Darmok
Picard is forced into a dangerous encounter with the captain of an alien starship. When Picard materialises on a deserted planet with an alien captain he must find a way to defend himself from the invisible beast that stalks their every move.
4) The Inner Light
After a mysterious accident, Picard wakes up living the life of another person on a faraway planet.
DISC TWO
1) Starship Mine
While the U.S.S. Enterprise is bombarded with lethal rays, Picard is trapped on board with a band of interstellar thieves.
2) Lessons
Picard is torn between love and duty when he is forced to send the woman he loves on a potentially deadly mission.
3) Bloodlines
Picard learns that he has a son, and that the young man has been targeted for murder by an old enemy in search of revenge.

This is an excellent set of episodes that are a must for the library of any self respecting Trekkie.
What extra features are included in the DVD? You should described everything that makes this different from say a video so consumers can ultimately decide whether this would be worth buying on DVD or not. good start though. Fionaxx

'Darmok' is a brilliant episode. I only ever liked The Next Generation, I thought all the other Star Trek series were really lame.
