Star Trek - Deep Space Nine - Series 6 - Complete DVD

Advantages: New Plots, Good Storylines.
Disadvantages: New Uniform - rather dour!

...The ongoing story on deep space nine where the Dominion War is brewing, klingons are back in force! The traditional uniform of starfleet that we have come to love has been changed for a more dour uniform, reasonably suited to the tensions and build up for battles to come. This season has an interesting mirror universe episode, where the characters get a chance to be evil instead of good! And there is the famous trials and tribulations episode with Jadzia in a very short skirt, and Ben gets to me Captain Kirk - all to save that precious timeline! And amongst all the suspicions of war, there are blossiming romances with Worf and Dax , and Odo and Kira! Also one episode featuring Quark which is bound to make you laugh! Advantages: Some very strong episodes and wrapping up for the characters
Disadvantages: Hard for everyone to get into unless familiar with DS9

...This was the last season of Star Trek Deep Space Nine and brought the long running storyline of the Dominion War to the end. Season 7 first of all had to deal with the loss of actor Terry Farrel from the cast list. As this is science fiction of course it wasnt too hard replacing her with another host for the "Dax" symbiote. Even though "Ezri Dax" was not the most popular character on her introduction I think she fit in well. It was a very strong ending season with the battle scenes and special effects really stepping it up a notch for the final battles. Nearly all loose ends are tied up in this season, although some are purposefully left open to let you know that events with the Prophets and Deep Space Nine will continue. These new slimline packs are also a godsend, previously Star Trek DVDs were very much over priced and over sized... Read review

...Series 6 of Deep Space Nine, to me, represents the absolute pinnacle in science fiction writing for television. In no other show will you see such a wide range of characters being developed in the course of a season. It is amazing that they were able to balance the development of the eight regular cast members (Sisko, Kira, Odo, Bashir, O'Brien, Quark, Jadzia, and Jake) against the continuing development of nearly 20 guest characters throughout the season. The complexity that results is fantastic, and this is all set to backdrop of the Dominion War - the first multi-season arc in Star Trek. The season starts out with an amazing six episode arc the runs from "A Time to Stand" to "Sacrifice of Angels". In these episodes you see Starfleet and the Federation on the brink of defeat after having to abandon Deep Space Nine... Read review
