series ofStar Storiesis great fun, and all six episodes are collected together on this DVD.Each episode covers the lives of certain celebrities, and while many of the targets are wholly obvious, that doesn't make the programme any less enjoyable. So into the firing line step David&Victoria, George Michael, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Jennifer Aniston and more, and their lives are joyfully lampooned by a company of talented performers. In fact, this is the only real fault withStar Stories: you can't call it ambitious with its subject matter at all. Not that we, truthfully, minded that much. For it's such good fun. In many ways they deliberately play things over the top, to real comic effect, throwing in fake magazines, parodies of certain points of its targets' lives and much more besides. It's infectiously daft, and not short on the laughs either.MoreStar Storiesare to follow this opening collection, unsurprising given the critical and commercial acclaim this opening selection have garnered (the show won best new comedy at the British Comedy Awards in 2006). But for now, it's well worth furnishing yourself with these six very funny, very accessible episodes of a programme with no shortage of future targets. --Jon Foster

Its great how some episodes end and leave you to think about what is going to happen. This left me many times to wonder what was going to happen until i watched the next bit and quite offten somthing diferent happend to what i thought was going to happen. It's just supurble fantastic to watch.
I can just keep watching this series over and over I think its that good.

Advantages: Realistic story, dilemmas you can relate to, sarcastic humour, famous special guests Disadvantages: May upset people who have experienced similar problems
...Ricky Gervais' second sitcom, starring himself, as Andy Millman, Stephen Merchant as Darren Lamb - Andy's agent, and Ashley Jensen as Maggie Jacobs - Andy's best friend. Maggie and Andy are extras in various films and television shows who are desparate to find a big role in a film. Andy has great ambition - and the series reveals his struggle in finding one. It shows the diffiiicult and depressed lives some extras have, whilst being a hilarious comedy at the same time. Special guests feature in each episode, including Samuel L. Jackson and Ben Stiller. Episodes are 30 minutes long, six in the series. Extra features provide an extra laugh; including a 'making of' and Stephen Merchant's video diary. Definitely wwworth buying both for the comedy and the story line....

Advantages: The special features and its funny!! Disadvantages: Far too many references to 'the second series' in the commentary
...Spaced is the story of two very different people. Daisy Steiner - played by Jessica Stephenson (also plays Cheryl on Royal Family) and Tim played by the brilliant Simon Pegg.
The star of the show though, has to be Brian. Just when things are settling down, Brian pops wearing painting or scaring Tim with some bamboo canes.
It's been said English television has been missing a decent sitcom for a while now. I'm sure Spaced is set to re-write that sentance. It is something most britcoms aren't - funny.
If you've just seen the second series on channel four and missed the first series get it! And if you've seen both series still get it! The commentary, biographies and deleted scenes on the DVD are well worth the £15 I got it for....
