Advantages: Acting fantastic, great cinematography, realistic fight scenes Disadvantages: I didn't watch it sooner
...on the chair, swore as I realised I would have to pay for this DVD and they staggered off to bed.....
I week later....
The DVD had made quite a journey that week being moved from on the chair to down the side of it. From down the side of it to underneath it. From underneath it.....I think you get where I am going with this..... It finally ended up in the DVD player as I was going to watch it even if it killed me as I was paying top dollar for it.
The story:
Will Smith gives a memorable performance in the title role of "Ali," a biopic about boxing great Muhammad Ali. I think it's one of the best sports movies ever made, and it tells a lot about Ali, the public figure. However, although the film offered some tantalizing glimpses into Ali, the man, I yearned for more. To my mind, the movie seemed more like good docudrama than deep character study...

Advantages: THE A-TEAM Disadvantages: BRING IT BACK
...my BMX) in order to get close to a big television set and enjoy it. From the likes of the late George Peppard as Hannibal Smith to Mr T as B.A Baracus, The A team worked extremely well and still over 20 years on is yet to be beaten for the sheer testosterone pulsating action on a late Saturday afternoon.
Watching this A-team Season 2 Box-set (which is on 6 DVD's, a staggering 17hrs 38mins running time) was a nostalgic trip back to the past where Col Hannibal Smith (Gerorge Peppard) and his team mates (B.A,Face,Murdock) Soldiers of Fortune are highly skilled military vigilantes that are hired by victims of injustice but at the same time are being heavily pursued by Col Decker who only wants them back behind bars for the crime they did not commit.
There's never a shortage of bullets flying left right and centre or clever strategic plans...

DVD Description
Martin Clunes directs and stars in this comedy romp in which he plays Neil, a toy salesman, who wakes up the day after his stag night to find himself naked and penniless on a remote Scottish island after a prank from his supposed best friend. Neil somehow has three days to get back to London, save his wedding, and foil his best friend's sinister plan.
Advantages: Acting, script Disadvantages: some may find it a bit long (3 hours)
...This is a fantastic film, with only 'Escape from Alcatraz' coming anywhere near it in the prison drama genre. Tim Robbins is very efficient in his portrayal of the brooding framed accountant, and Morgan Freeman is likewise very effective as his mentor and initial guardian. What becomes evident through the film is that Robbins' character can indeed look after himself, and we are only left to wonder if he will get out of Shawshank alive. The last half hour, when the whole story is led to a staggering climax, is an unforgettable piece of film....

Advantages: A story that doesn't get lost in love story Disadvantages: Surprising amount of blood for 15 certificate
...Most films released seem to show the best bits in the trailers, this is not true of this film. From the very beginning you are kept on the edge of your seat.
The whole story moved at a pace which made the 2.5 hours just speed past.
There is a potential love story within this film. But the director held true to his audience and kept the film about the struggle to do the right thing rather than take the easy option.
The special effects are staggering, but don't distract from the power of the acting. Some of the best british acting talent is on show for what is a terrific way to spend time....

...Air Force One
This film is not one to be missed, it combines staggering speacial effects with touching moments of sublime acting. Harrison For stars as the President Of The United States of America, on board his own private air ship, Air Force One. Unfortunately for him, his daughter and wife are put in to jeopardy when terrorists take over the plan. I would recommend this file to any action lovers, i enjoyed it from start to finish. However you would be better advised to see the matrix, or fight club....
