Extreme Fighting

Advantages: cheap, plenty of action, it's MMA
Disadvantages: poor sound and picture, no extras, quality of fights

***What is it?*** The sport of mixed martial arts is one of the most misunderstood sports of all time. People get the impression of street brawls and bar fights when they think of no holds barred fighting. Boxing promoters say that people who compete in this sport are unskilled and don't have the dedication to do well in something like boxing. I'd like to say that most of the martial artists in these events devote their lives to martial arts and ...
...action and the fighters know when to give up and submit. There have actually been less serious injuries than sports like basketball, hockey and skiing. The amount of respect and sportsmanship showed in this sport is of a higher regard than any other. Fighters will rage war on one another for anything up to half an hour then hug and congratulate each other afterwards. But enough about that as I have devoted a whole opinion to the cause in another ...

It's real, it's in a cage and it hurts.

Advantages: Fight fans will like it
Disadvantages: No extras

The all new Ultimate Fighting Championship was under new management and just getting bigger and more mainstream with each event to the point where it is now getting bigger crowds than boxing and is mainstream tv in america. UFC lets fighters use all the skill from every martial art, boxing, kicking, wrestling, throws, submissions. There are 5 weight divisions and all the action takes place in the OCTAGON, 3x5 minute bouts with title fights 5x5. ...
...good show case of all the skills a fighter needs to gain top level in the UFC. Both fighters show boxing skill, wrestling and good ground and submission ability. No extras-oh well Another good night from the most intense, full-contact events in sports today. Ultimate Fighting Championship ...

Documentary about MMA, no-holds-barred fighting

Advantages: Lots of good footage
Disadvantages: Not alot of interesting insight

...Gracie vehicle Choke. But while Rites Of Passage is crammed full of compelling clips, it's sadly bereft of a narrative thread to tie the whole thing together. The Gracie and Kerr documentaries are unique in that they both tell the incredible stories of their protagonists, but in doing so also serve as compelling and worthwhile introductions to the world of combat sports. Rites Of Passage does not really have a central story to tell so much as it ...
...own attempt to introduce the viewer to no-holds-barred and MMA competition feels somewhat distracted and confused. The film is split into 3 disparate sections. These cover MMA fighters the Inoue brothers, the 2000 World Vale Tudo Championship in Brazil, and UFC 23, which was held in Tokyo in november 1999. The access granted to the film-makers is impressive, and there's no shortage of footage shot in hotels, gyms and backstage at MMA events. There ...

Mamma Said Knock You Out!

Advantages: Great action, great price, no boring bits!
Disadvantages: Could be longer

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) use the slogan 'As Real As It Gets' and this DVD showcases why they chose that as their tag line - this is Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) action personified! Over the years UFC has changed a little bit and they do have some rules now - believe it or not! However, back in the beginning there were no rules - at UFC 4 (16th Dec 1994) you'll see Keith Hackney repeatedly punch Joe Son in the groin, but I digress - that's ...
...boring - this is where Ultimate Knockouts excels. It cuts out anything that may be construed as boring and goes straight to the bit we all want to see - the knockout! One huge benefit of this DVD is the repeat viewing factor. How many times have you spent money on a DVD only to watch it once and then put it away to gather dust until you take it down to MVC along with another 15 'one time watch' DVDs to swap them for one and a half DVDs from the ...

The best of aston villa 2005/2006 all summed up in 160 minutes

Advantages: Very detailed look at the 2005/2006 season
Disadvantages: There arent any

The aston villa season review 2005 / 2006 is a trip down memory lane at the highs and lows of that year! This particular year aston villa struggled under david o'leary but the positves were the inclusion of some very promising youngsters in the first team squad. It is a very good dvd which includes month by month results, squad profiles and match stats and who could forget the 3-1 win over close rivals birmingham city which is included as extended ...
