In the presence of giants...
Advantages: Straightforward and engaging Disadvantages: None
...California. Jeff Clark had been riding these waves for 15 years on his own until he finally persuaded a couple of others to join him, and suddenly the area (known as Mavericks) became huge. Until then it hd been thought that all the big waves were in Hawaii and couldn't be matched - but at Mavericks they were matched, and in some cases beaten.
Bringing us up to date we meet the man most people describe as the best big wave surfer ever, Laird Hamilton, ... ...few others pioneered a new kind of surfing where you are towed-in to the wave so you can get up to speed more easily. This suddenly makes the biggest waves accessible, and also paves the way for smaller boards (a third smaller than the standard big wave board) meaning you are more manoeverable and faster.
Of course surfing carries with it certain risks, and these are not glossed over as we hear of the deaths of Mark Foo, a noted Hawaiian big wave ...

Are they Superstars?
Advantages: Quite a few good DVD extras. Disadvantages: Entertaining but don't expect to see many wrestling matches.
...on his breaking in the WWE & the AWA. It brings up some interesting aspects, especially to do with a certain WWE superstar getting Shawn fired from the WWE and his high school wrestling history, unfortunately though without any home camcorder footage the section is a bit dry and does not compare well with others.
Tazz
This is one of the best interviews, especially when he talks about his childhood in Brooklyn and the school which he attended. His ... ...the career ending gimmicks the WWE gave him. The most interesting part of the whole DVD is on this segment as Al talks about how after the WWE gave him two really shocking gimmicks (Avatar & Shinobi) he had a break from the WWE which really helped. After some out-break some performances in ECW the WWE were hot at his heels to have him back, that plus tales of WCW make this chapter the best by any means. Randy Orton
This segment screams “I got my ...

A Shaolin Wheel of Life production...
Advantages: inspiring, breath taking Disadvantages: some stunts are cringe worthy
...than that of any movie. Shaolin Kung-fu goes back along way into time, the story the monks are trying to tell the audience, through their discipline, is a legandary one.
The monks can perform as a team, in which they all move in unisen, but they also display their own unique talents. For example, several of the monks performed their different animal techniques (such as monkey, praying mantis, and eagle), some monks take on tasks such as lying atop ... ...There are no special effects used, so this aspect I would rate at a low level. But special effects in this DVD would be out of context and spoil the whole performance (and the sense of total reality).
The soundtrack is dramatic at points then subtle at others, but the music is always appropriate throughout. Excellent soundtrack.
I have seen several Martail arts demonstrations, including karate, ju-jitsu, and judo, but this is by far the most fun ...
