Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron
****************************
I'm not a big fan of animated movies, so when my sister bought back a copy of the latest DreamWorks movie a good few years ago now, I was very unimpressed. I initially tried to think of every excuse going, I mean classics like Beauty and the Beast and Lady and the Tramp are fine, but a film about talking horses? Anyway, she talked me into it, and hence my review begins?.
The actors?.voices
******************
Obviously the actors would look a bit silly thrown into an animated movie so just their voices were used. The star of the movie (Spirit the mustang stallion) is voiced by Matt Damon who tells the tale brilliantly, I never once doubted that the horse Spirit was talking to me (ok, maybe exaggerating a little there but he was good).

The RoadtoElDorado
Characters (voices only)
Miguel - Kenneth Branagh
&
Tulio - Kevin Kline
Miguel and Tulio are two Spanish conmen; who stumble upon a map of the fabled land of ElDorado. They grab the map, run and accidentally end up on the island after some problems on a boat. Kenneth Branagh and Kevin Kline both do very good jobs of playing their characters. They work as a team and this makes up some very funny sequences. They both were in Wild Wild West as Loveless (Branagh) and Artemus Gordon (Kline.)
Chel - Rosie Perez
Chel is a native of ElDorado; she is a seductive person who wants to escape the land and inadvertently leads the two explorers to the city. Rosie Perez's voice is as annoying as ever but she had a script and she said it.
Tzekel-Kan - Armand Assante

Tzekel-Kan (Armand Assante), a scheming priest who uses Black Magic continually tests the 'Gods' resolve with his blood thirst for sacrifice. He wields his power against the people proclaiming that it is the God's will.
Chel (Rosie Perez), a spunky girl who is initially saved by the heroes realizes they are not Gods and understands their only interest is in the abundant gold. As this is also her interest she decides to help out and try and keep their identity secret. She also happens to fall in love with one of our heroes ...
