The plot - Speed 2: Again, a similar concept as Speed, where Annie Porter is caught up in a major disaster where there's a maniac (William Dafoe) on a cruise ship who decides to blow everything up. This obviously ruins her and her boyfriends (Jason Patric) Caribbean holiday but again they're there to save the day!
I would say Speed 2 isn't as good as the first one but most sequels aren't anyway. It still has all the action and comedy, so it's suitable for the whole family and it is a fantastic film to get out and watch every now and then.
The cast - Again, another good line up although it's only Sandra Bullock and William Dafoe (the aviator, 2004) who are really famous which is a shame because there's a lot of good acting in the film. It's also a shame that Keanu Reeves didn't go back and do the second film otherwise it would have been even better!

Packaging: The case has the two photos from both films merged together on a black background with the fire from Speed at the top and the water from Speed 2 at the bottom. The two films come on two separate discs, so you're practically buying two films for the price of one!
Price: On Amazon it's £14.99 but you can buy it for £5.00 under the new and used section. Also, Amazon do a new feature where you can rent it, so if you're not sure wheteher it's the film for you, rent it first!
Getting both films in a box set is a great idea as it's cheaper and you get both films together.
I highly recommend both films for the whole family - Sandra Bullock is spectacular and as funny as ever! - 9/10

Speed 1 in my opinion is one of the greatest action movies of all time. speed 2 however tried to cash in on the first films sucess and failed horribly. The first speed movie follows the adventure of a cop who gets caught up with a mad mans atempt to become rich by using certain devalish plots. The main one of which being putting a bomb on a bus so that if it goes under 50mph thenit will expolode. if this sounds like a good plot in your eyes then ... ...worth your time at all. The god awfull film follows a ship as it is plotted a course to crash into an oil tanker by you typical evil genius. Its ones of the worst movies ever made.
If i were you i would buy speed 1 on its own as its cheaper and if your like me you would preffer to have just the 1 DVD in the box. ...

Hi have watched both of these DVD, whilst Speed the original is an all time classic with intense action through the entire movie, Speed 2 - cruise control in my opinion does not live up to the legacy of the original. The resolution of DVD, and Dolby digital sound is as cutting edge as it gets and this DVD pack would unfortunatley not be on my xmas list this year but if you know any die hard Speed fans then this is a must!!! Making good sequels is trickier than it looks and Jan de Bont made a poor go of it in Speed 2. The fact that the film is only going ahead with half the winning team Sandra and Keanu is a bad start.
Jason Patric however is by no means a bad actor and was great in 'Geronimo' however he lacks the charisma that Keanu brought to Speed.
Speed 2 is set on a ship and so limits the action, in Speed there was not only the bus action but elevator and subway ... ...been treated to a cruise by her boyfriend. Enter bad guy - Willem Dafoe. Dafoe's character is so manic and deranged we forget about the fact that he's not provided with any sort of motive for his intrepid efforts to maim, kill and set off explosions. Speed 2 is almost an identikit of cliches from every disaster thriller ever made.
